Maintenance disclosures
THE CREW EXPERIENCED AN INTERMITTENT FIRE INDICATION WARNING LIGHT FOR THE NUMBER 2 ENGINE WHILE ON SHORT FINAL. THE CREW LANDED THE AIRCRAFT AND REPORTED THE ISSUE TO ON-SITE MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL. MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOT THE ISSUE TO A FAULTY FIRE CONTROL PANEL. THE FIRE CONTROL PANEL WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED AND OPERATIONAL CHECKS WERE PERFORMED SATISFACTORY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKE OFF , PASSENGERS STATED SMELLING AND SEEING SMOKE FROM BEHIND THE PILOT SEAT. FLIGHT IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO BASE. MAINTENANCE DISCOVERED A HYDRAULIC LEAK UNDER THE ELECTRICAL JUNCTION BOX. TROUBLESHOT AND INSPECTED LOCATED A HYDRAULIC LEAK IN THE GEAR DOWN LINE UNDER CENTER FLIGHT DECK FLOOR CAUSING MIST AND VAPOR SEEN AS SMOKE. REMOVED AND REPLACED THE HYD LINE. OPS AND LEAK CHECKED GOOD.
A CRACK WAS FOUND ON THE RT AILERON OTBD HINGE LOCATION WHEN PERFORMING INSPECTION IAW SA227 SERVICE LETTER 227-SL-060. R & R RT AILERON WITH A SERVICEABLE AILERON.
CRACK IN AILERON SPAR ADJACENT TO OTBD HINGE FITTING. THIS DISCREPANCY OCCURRED UNDER NORMAL WEAR AND UTILIZATION.
