AFTER TAKEOFF, CREW NOTED A BURNT SMELL IN COCKPIT. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO MSY AND MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING. INSPECTED AND FOUND A PLASTIC BAG IN NR 1 ENGINE. REMOVED AND OP CHECKED, ALL NORMAL.
