DURING THE REMOVAL OF THE RUDDER, LWR STABILIZER HINGE ASSY WAS FOUND WITH HEAVY CORROSION. THIS CORROSION WAS NOT VISIBLE WITHOUT REMOVING THE RUDDER. (K)
WHILE REMOVING THE ENGINE FOR A SCHEDULED OVERHAUL, WE NOTICED 5 RIVETS SHEARED OF THE TOP HALF OF THE INDUCTION AIR PLENUM BAND ASSY. A SHEARED RIVET HEAD CAN EASILY FIT THRU THE ENGINE INLET SCREEN AND COULD BE INGESTED BY THE ENGINE CAUSING GREAT DAMAGE OR TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE. (K)

PROPELLER WAS DISASSEMBLED AND INSPECTED FOR OVERHAUL. PROPELLER HUB WAS STRIPPED, ETCHED AND DYE PENETRANT INSPECTED. INDICATIONS OF CRACKS WERE APPEARANT AT 5 LOCATIONS ON THE REAR HALF OF THE HUB NEXT TO THE REAR BETA ROD BUSHING SOCKETS. EDDY CURRENT INSPECTION VERIFIED ALL LOCATIONS WERE CRACKED. PART WAS RETIRED FROM SERVICE.
