AMF1351 - THE RIGHT ENGINE WAS NOT PRODUCING 100% POWER AND IT KEPT GETTING LOWER AND ENGINE TEMP CONTINUED TO RISE. ONCE HE WAS ON APPROACH INTO KABQ HE MADE THE DECISION TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE FOR THE LANDING. GROUND EMERGENCY RESPONSE WAS DISPATCHED. LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOT AND DETERMINED THAT THEY WOULD REMOVE AND REPLACE THE RT PROP GOVERNOR PN 897410-16 AND THE RT FUEL CONTROL.PN 897801-4 (SN 1821546 TSN:9006.1 CYCLES:9211 TSI:1916.5. AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE WITH FURTHER ISSUES.
DURING CRUISE FLIGHT AT 13000 FT. FROM KELP TO KBUR, THE CREW NOTED THERE WAS SMOKE IN THE AFT CABIN. THE CREW REQUESTED DIVERTING TO KPHX. THE AIRCRAFT DESCENDED TO 10, 000 FT. AND TURNED OFF THE BLEEDS, THE SMOKE IN THE AFT CABIN WAS CLEARED. AIRCRAFT LANDED IN KPHX WITH NO FURTHER ISSUE. MAINTENANCE ACCESSED AIR CONDITIONING / HEATING SUPPLY TO INSPECT FOR BLEED LEAKAGE, NO DEFECTS NOTED. PERFORMED 30 MINUTES OF ENVIRONMENTAL OPERATIONAL CHECK WITH MAXIMUM CABIN TEMPERATURE, NO DEFECTS NOTED.
ABOUT 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO ARRIVAL TO KLAN FROM KPLN, THE ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENTS STARTED SURGING AND OCCASIONALLY THE COMMS, GPS, AND NAVS ON THE PILOT SIDE WOULD FLASH OFF AND ON. PRIOR TO GETTING THE AIRPORT IN SIGHT, THE ELECTRICAL POWER SHUT OFF AND IT TOOK A COUPLE SECONDS OF CHATTERING IN THE INSTRUMENTS BEFORE IT CAME BACK ON. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO GET THE POWER BACK AND INFORMED APPROACH THAT THE AIRPORT WAS IN SIGHT. UPON SWITCHING TO ATC, THE POWER WENT OUT AGAIN AND WHEN PILOT WAS FINALLY ABLE TO REACH THE ATC CALLED AIRPORT IN SIGHT AND RECEIVED LANDING CLEARANCE. WHEN FLAPS SELECTED TO 1/2 AND GEAR DOWN, THE POWER WENT OUT ALMOST COMPLETELY. #2 NAV AND COMM WAS STILL POWERED, BUT UNABLE TO TRANSMIT. PILOT LEVELED OFF AT PATTERN ALTITUDE AND FLEW DOWN THE RUNWAY WHILE RUNNING THE QRH. PILOT WAS ABLE TO RESTORE POWER TO THE AIRPLANE BY TURNING JUST THE GENERATORS ON AND LEAVING THE BATTERIES OFF AND REESTABLISHED CONTACT WITH ATC AND INFORMED THEM, THE AIRCRAFT WAS HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. PILOT REQUESTED TOWER FLYBY FOR VISUAL GEAR DOWN VERIFICATION AND THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE THE REST OF THE PATTERN AND LANDING WITH NO ADDITIONAL ISSUES. LAN MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOT AND FOUND BLOWN CURRENT LIMITER, REPLACED CURRENT LIMITER. REMOVED AND REPLACED LEFT STARTER GENERATOR FOR PRECAUTIONARY PER AMM 24-30-20 SEC 2A-B. OPERATIONAL CHECK GOOD.
DURING CRUISE, THE RT ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE RT ENGINE STARTED TO BYPASS FUEL LOWER THAN NORMAL EGT TEMPERATURE. REDUCED POWER AND THE AFFECTED ENGINE QUIT BYPASSING. APPLIED POWER, & RT ENGINE EGT INCREASED AND THE ENGINE BYPASSED AGAIN. FOLLOWED QRH AND WAS UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, PERFORMED A PRECAUTIONARY IN FLIGHT RT ENG SHUTDOWN, DIVERTED, AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. INSPECTED THE RT ENGINE & PERFORMED GROUND RUNS. THE FUEL BYPASS DISCREPANCY COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. MAINTENANCE REMOVED AND REPLACED THE RIGHT TEMP LIMITER. PERFORMED RT ENGINE GROUND RUNS, OPS OF THE RIGHT ENGINE BY-PASS CIRCUIT WAS NORMAL. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
DURING DESCENT TO KLAN BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT HYDRAULIC PRESSURE LOW ANNUNCIATORS ILLUMINATED FOLLOWED BY LOSS OF HYDRAULIC PRESSURE. THE PILOT PLACED THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE TO THE DOWN POSITION AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE OF THE LANDING GEAR. THE PILOT PERFORMED A MANUAL LANDING GEAR EXTENSION, DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT IN KLAN. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT AND FOUND THAT THE LEFT FLAP UP HYDRAULIC LINE P\N 27-81032-183 WAS CRACKED. MAINTENANCE FABRICATED A REPLACEMENT LINE AND INSTALLED PER AMM 20-40-00 SECTION 1A-1E OPERATIONAL AND LEAK CHECKS WERE NORMAL. LEFT AND RIGHT ENGINE HYDRAULIC PUMPS REPLACED DUE TO LOSS OF PRESSURE LIMITS EXCEEDED. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FILTER'S INSPECTED NO DEFECTS FOUND
DEPARTED WAS NORMAL. PASSING THROUGH 1000AGL, RT ENGINE QUIT. NO INDICATION, TORQUE READ 0%, AND LATER TORQUE INCREASED BACK TO 60% & BACK TO 0%. QRH FOLLOWED AND SECURED RT ENGINE. DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, RETURNED TO DEPARTURE, & LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. INSPECTED RT ENGINE & TRIED A GROUND START WHICH VERIFIED THE RT ENGINE WOULD NOT GO INTO AUTO-RESTART MODE. INSPECTED AND TROUBLE SHOT SYSTEMS, AND FOUND THAT ENGINE WOULD SHUT DOWN WITH NO NTS. REMOVED AND REPLACED THE NTS ORIFICE AND THE BETA TRANSFER TUBE, ADJUSTED NTS LOAD ARMS AND REPLACED NTS VALVE. GROUND RAN ENGINE AND FOUND OPERATING WITHIN LIMITS AND NO SUBSEQUENT ISSUES HAVE BEEN REPORTED.
