REPLACED NOSE GEAR FREE FALL ACTUATOR. ACCOMPLISHED NOSE GEAR UPLOCK ADJUSTMENT TEST, FREE FALL GEAR BLOW DOWN PLUMBING LEAK CHECK AND SEVERAL GEAR SWINGS WITH SATISFACTORY RESULTS. (K)
DURING APPROACH TO HUF, NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT INDICATE DOWN AND LOCKED. CYCLED GEAR SEVERAL TIMES TO OBTAIN DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATION. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE RECENT MECHANICAL RELIABILITY OF THE NOSE GEAR OPERATION IN LEARJET N717JB, NOSE GEAR ACTUATOR PN 2317100-12, SN B117, HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM SERVICE. PART TT: 2792.8 HOURS. DURING APPROACH TO TOL, EXTENDED LANDING GEAR AND NOSE GEAR, UNSAFE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. CYCLED LANDING GEAR, NORMAL DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATION. CONTACTED TOL TOWER TO CONFIRM NOSE GEAR DOWN. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. NOSE GEAR STRUT DEFLATED AND LEAKING HYDRAULIC FLUID. REPLACED NOSE STRUT SEALS, SERVICED STRUT. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.
