PILOT HAD NOT YET ENTERED IMC(INSTRUMENT MET SYSTEM) BUT CONTINUED FLIGHT WOULD REQUIRE THIS SYSTEM. PILOT INITIATED AIR TURNBACK AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
