THE ENGINE HAD EXPERIENCE FREQUENT ALTERNATOR BELT THROWING PROBLEMS. NO FIX WAS FOUND. THE DECISION WAS MADE TO HAVE THE ENGINE INSPECTED FOR DEFECTS. FOUND EXCESSIVELY WORN CRANKSHAFT COUNTERWEIGHT BUSHINGS. THIS IS BELIEVED TO BE THE REASON THE ALTERNATOR BELT WOULD NOT OPERATE PROPERLY.
DURING CRUISE ACFT ENG EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ENG POWER, MISSING & STUTTERING. INSPECTED THE FUEL SYS & DETERMINED THAT THE RT FUEL BLADDER MATERIAL WAS DETERIORATING & CLOGGING THE FUEL FILTER SYS & STARVING THE ENG OF FUEL.
DURING FLIGHT BURNING SMELL & SMOKE WAS NOTICED BY FLIGHT CREW IN THE FLIGHT COMPARTMENT. AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE, THE MASTER SWITCH WAS TURNED OFF WHICH ALLEVIATED THE ACCUMULATION OF ADDITIONAL SMOKE & SMELLS. THE ACFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. PERSONNEL DISCOVERED THAT THE MAIN STARTER CABLE HAD CHAFED INTO THE FIREWALL METAL SHIELD PN S1095-4.
BURNING ODOR IN CABIN DURING FLIGHT. MAINTENANCE DISCOVERED THAT DIODE THAT IS CONNECTED BETWEEN THE LANDING LIGHT AND TAXI LIGHT SWITCHES SHOWED SIGNS OF HEAT DAMAGE AND WAS VERY HOT TO THE TOUCH. REPLACEMENT OF THE DIODE REMEDIED THE PROBLEM.
ENGINE VERY ROUGH WITH LOSS OF POWER, RT MAGNETO WAS REPLACED DUE TO INTERNAL DAMAGE.
FOUND LOWER UAT ANTENNA BAD DURING UAT UPGRADE. (AL05200502611) (K)
AFTER INSTALLATION OF PART, OPS CHECK FOUND TRIM CHAIN TO RIDE NORMALLY FOR TWO-THIRDS OF TURN ON SPACER BEFORE RIDING UPON TEETH OF SPROCKET AND JUMPING OFF. INSPECTED SPROCKET AND DETERMINED SOME OF THE TEETH MISS-CUT UPON MANUFACTURE.
