AFTER TAKEOFF, THE LANDING GEAR LEVER REMAINED LOCKED IN THE DOWN POSITION. GEAR WOULD NOT RETRACT. TROUBLESHOT ISSUE TO NGL SQUAT SWITCH NOT BEING CLOSED DUE TO PARTIAL SHOCK STRUT EXTENSION. REMOVED LH AND RH NLG WHEELS, CLEANED AND SERVICED STRUT, RE-INSTALLED LH AND RH NLG WHEELS, PERFORMED GEAR SWING, OPS CHECK GOOD, AND SERVICED HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR. ALL WORK PERFORMED IAW CESSNA 750 AMM: 32-30-00, 32-41-01, 32-00-01, 12-10-15, & 12-10-38.
SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, FLIGHT CREW RECEIVED AN AMBER âCABIN ALTITUDEâ CAS MESSAGE. CREW DESCENDED TO 10000MSL, RAN THE APPROPRIATE CHECKLIST AND DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. THEY WERE ABLE TO CLEAR THE CAS MESSAGE AND HAD CONTROL OF THE PRESSURIZATION IN MANUAL MODE. CREW REQUESTED TO CLIMB TO 15000MSL TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTED, AND AT 13000MSL THEY RECEIVED A SECOND AMBER âCABIN ALTITUDEâ CAS MESSAGE. CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH ATC AND RETURNED TO MSP, WHERE THEY LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE PERFORMED NUMEROUS PRESSURIZATION FUNCTIONAL CHECKS, WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. DURING TROUBLESHOOTING THEY RECEIVED A âCABIN VENT DOORâ CAS MESSAGE AND FOUND THE CABIN VENT DOOR PROXIMITY SWITCH OUT OF RIG. PROX SWITH WAS PROPERLY RIGGED AND OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS NORMAL. AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED FOR A MAINTENANCE CONFIDENCE FLIGHT.
UPON GEAR RETRACTION WHILE DEPARTING MDW, FLIGHT CREW NOTED THAT THE RED (GEAR UNSAFE/TRANSIT) LIGHT EXTINGUISHED, BUT THEN IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO CYCLE ON AND OFF, ACCOMPANIED BY A LOUD BANGING/CLUNKING NOISE. CREW IMMEDIATELY CYCLED THE GEAR HANDLE DOWN AND THE GEAR EXTENDED NORMALLY; DOWN AND LOCKED. CREW REQUESTED VECTORS BACK TO MDW, WHERE THEY LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED. THE AIRCRAFT IS CURRENTLY STILL IN MAINTENANCE FOR THIS ISSUE. WHEN THE FINDINGS ARE KNOWN, UPON INSPECTION OF THE LANDING GEAR, MAINTENANCE FOUND DAMAGE TO THE LH MLG EMERGENCY EXTENSION CABLE, CAUSING THE LH MLG UPLOCK TO NOT FULLY ENGAGE WITH THE GEAR RETRACTED. A NEW CABLE ASSEMBLY (P/N: 6741702-8) WAS INSTALLED. A SATISFACTORY GEAR SWING FUNCTIONAL CHECK WAS ACCOMPLISHED AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.
WHILE ON DESCENT AT APPROXIMATELY FL300, BOTH CREW MEMBERS REPORTED SMELLING A STRONG BURNT ELECTRICAL ODOR, AT WHICH TIME THEY TURNED OFF THE INTERIOR MASTER AND WIFI AS A PRECAUTION. CREW NOTIFIED ATC THAT THEY DIDNâT SEE ACTIVE SMOKE, BUT DO SMELL AN ODD ODOR AND REQUESTED DESCENT. THE SOURCE OF THE ELECTRICAL SMELL COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED, BUT THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF AN ACTIVE FIRE. DURING APPROACH THE ODOR RETURNED, SO THE COCKPIT PAC WAS TURNED OFF WHICH SEEMED TO HAVE HELPED ALLEVIATE THE SMELL. AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED IN KLAS. MAINTENANCE FOUND A FAILED COCKPIT ACM AS THE SOURCE OF THE ODOR. ACM WAS REPLACED WITH NEW; LEAK AND OPERATIONAL CHECKS WERE NORMAL. AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
