VERIFY AND RECORD IN AML/EAML THAT ASSOCIATED SLIDE IS VISUALLY VERIFIED ENGAGED PRIOR TO EACH DEPARTURE." PER MEL 25-66-05-A, ENGAGEMENT OF ASSOCIATED SLIDE HAS BEEN VISUALLY VERIFIED. AC OK FOR SERVICE.
L1 DOOR GUST LOCK STUCK AND UNABLE TO CLOSE DOOR. ON INSPECTION OF GUST LOCK AND COLLAR, FOUND COLLAR AND GUST LOCK INTACT AND OPERATIONAL. WHEN DOOR WAS FULLY OPEN AGAINST FUSELAGE, FOUND GUST LOCK COLLAR WOULD NOT DISENGAGE FROM DOOR ASSIST SPLINE UNTIL DOOR WAS MOVED, OTBD APROX 10' DEG BECAUSE IT IS AGAINST THE HOLD OPEN LOCK. GUST LOCK COLLAR IS SPLINED TO THE DOOR ASSIST MECHANISM, SUSPECT DOOR ASSIST MECH. IS OUT OF RIG. IAW AMM 52-11-01-6. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION OF THE L1 DOOR, FOUND THAT THE BODY HINGE TORQUE TUBE WAS BEING ALLOWED TO MOVE AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT DUE TO THE LOWER HINGE LINK GUIDE ARM, CAM FOLLOWER PINS, NOT MAKING CONTACT WITH THE STOP WHILE RIDING INSIDE THE UPPER & LOWER CAM PLATE. DISPLACED L1 DOOR GUIDE ARM. COMPLETED INSTALL & ADJUSTMENTS OF GUIDE ARM, ALL CHKD GOOD. DOOR HOLD OPEN LOCK STILL BINDS UP, REMOVED AND INSPECTED SPLINES, FOUND CHUNKS OF OLD BROKEN BRONZE FROM THE OLD LOCK STUCK IN SPLINED AREAS NOT ALLOWING THE LOCK TO MOVE SMOOTHLY. REMOVED AND THROUGHLY CLEANED SPLINED AREA AND REINSTALLED NEW LOCK AND LUBRICATED, LOCK MOVES SMOOTHLY NOW. ALL CHECKS FOR DOOR GOOD AT THIS TIME. REVERSED MEL 52-11-01-A.
