Maintenance disclosures
WHILE EN ROUTE, THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED THE NR 3 DISPLAY UNIT CYCLED ON/OFF TWICE. SHORTLY AFTER IT FAILED COMPLETELY AND THE CREW NOTICED A BURNING ELECTRICAL SMELL. THE CREW DECIDED TO DIVERT INTO DFW. DURING THE DESCENT, THE SMELL DISSIPATED. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE WAS SECURED TO INSPECT AND REPAIR THE AIRCRAFT. TECHNICIANS REMOVED THE DISPLAY UNIT AND NOTED THERE WAS A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF LINT AND DUST IN AND SURROUNDING THE COOLING APERTURES OF THE UNITS. THE LINT AND DUST WAS CLEANED, THE NR 3 DISPLAY WAS REPLACED WITH A REPAIRED UNIT AND OPERATIONAL CHECKS COMPLETED WITH NO DISCREPANCIES NOTED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY RETURNED TO SERVICE.
WHILE CLIMBING THROUGH FL330, THE FLIGHT CREW HEARD A LOUD REPORT FOLLOWED BY COMPLETE SPIDERWEB CRACKING OF THE R/H COCKPIT WINDSCREEN. OXYGEN MASKS WERE DONNED, APPROPRIATE CHECK LIST COMPLETED AND AN EMERGENCY DECLARED. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED UNEVENTFULLY.
WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT, THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED & INTERMITTENT ELEC SMELL. AS A PRECAUTION, THE CABIN ELEC POWER WAS SHUT OFF & THE DECISION TO DIVERT WAS MADE. INSPECTED ELEC EQUIPMENT THROUGHOUT THE CABIN & COCKPIT, PERFORMED OPERATIONAL CHECKS OF THE MICROWAVE OVEN & CHIME SYS WITH NO DISCREPANCIES NOTED. POWER WAS APPLIED TO THE ACFT & ALL SYS & EQUIPMENT REMAINED ON FOR 4 HOURS WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. THE ACFT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY RETURNED TO SERVICE WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES NOTED.
