BOTH LOWER RIVETS (LT AND RT) WERE FOUND SHEARED ON THE AFT SPAR OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER WHERE THE VERTICAL STABILIZER ATTACHES TO THE EMPENNAGE. SUBMITTER STATED THIS IS AIRCRAFT NR 3 IN FLEET OF PA 34-200T'S THAT HAS BEEN FOUND TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM.
BRAIDED WIRE TYPE BATTERY CABLES LOOSE AT BATTERY TERMINALS, CAUSES SEVERE VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS AND FLIGHT INTERRUPTION. OPERATOR REPORTS NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS TYPE CABLE. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS RESULT WHEN BRAIDING COMES UNDONE AND BATTERY TERMINALS GET LOOSE.
PILOT DEPARTED FIELD WITH SNOW ON TAXIWAYS AND RUNWAY. LANDING GEAR FAILED TO FULLY RETRACT DUE TO BLOCKAGE BY CHUNKS OF ICE AND SNOW. SUBMITTER SUGGESTS P.O.H. REVISION TO PRECLUDE OPERATION OF THIS MODEL AIRCRAFT FROM FIELDS WITH ANY FORM OF ICE, SNOW, SLUSH.
KEY CAN BE REMOVED FROM DOOR LOCK WHEN LOCK IS IN OPEN POSITION REGARDLESS OF DOOR LATCH POSTION. FAILS TESTS PER AD 88-04-05. SUBMITTER STATED THE AD SHOULD BE A 100-HOUR RECURRING MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENT. MOST PILOTS UNAWARE OF NEED FOR PRE/POST-FLIGHT CHECKS PER PAPER SB 633B.
LOWER LATCH ASSY IS ELONGATING HOLE IN LOWER SILL OF FWD BAGGAGE DOOR ASSY. FAILS TESTS PER AD 88-04-05 EVEN THOUGH AD PREVIOUSLY C/W. SUBMITTER STATES INSPECTIONS REQUIRED BY AD SHOULD BE 100-HR MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS. MOST PILOTS UNAWARE OF NEED FOR PRE/POST-FLIGHT CHECK PER PIPER SB 633B.
THE SHUT-OFF FUNCTION IS INOP ON THE LOW PRESSURE REGULATOR OF THE 2-STAGE PNEUMATIC REGULATOR VALVE ASSY. WHEN ACTIVATED VALVE DOES NOT ALLOW SUFFICIENT PNEUMATIC PRESSURE FOR OPERATION OF THE SURFACE DEICE BOOTS.
