THE ALTERNATE INDICATION WAS NOT INDICATING AND THE APPROACH WAS MISSED. THE GEAR WAS THEN CYCLED FOR A SECOND TIME AND ALL INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL. ALL THREE GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATED WERE ILLUMINATED BY THREE GREEN LIGHTS. THE PLANE LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. IN ROA THE NOSE GEAR WAS SWUNG. IT WAS REPORTED THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS SLOW AND THE DOORS WOULD STUTTER WHEN OPENING. FLUID COULD ALSO BE HEARD BYPASSING IN THE GEAR WELL. THE NOSE RETRACTION ACTUATOR WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MM 32-30-31. THE GEAR WAS AGAIN CYCLED AND THE OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS GOOD.

DURING INSPECTION AFTER INFLIGHT FIRE, THE OUTBOARD NR 3 FLAP TRACK SUPPORT BEAM WAS FOUND TO HAVE FIRE DAMAGE. MAINTENANCE REPLACED SUPPORT BEAM.
AFTER DEPARTURE FROM ABE, AT APPROX 200 FT THE CREW NOTICED THE ILLUMINATION CAUTION LIGHTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE NR 1 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AT APPROX 400 FT. THE CREW WAS ABLE TO VERIFY THAT THE NR 1 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM QUANTITY WAS AT ZERO. THE CREW RETURNED TO THE FIELD AND SHUT THE ENGINES DOWN ON THE RUNWAY AND AWAITED THE GROUND CREW TO TOW THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE GATE. ALL PAX ARE OK. AFTER INVESTIGATION OF LEAK MX DISCOVERED EVIDENCE OF A FLASH FIRE UNDER PANEL 419AT, WITH WIRE COATINGS BURNED OFF. LEAK ORIGINATED 8 INCHES OUTBOARD OF NACELLE UNDER PANEL 532AB. PINHOLE FOUND IN HYDRAULIC LINE. LINE WAS REPLACED WITH A TEMP FLEX LINE AND WIRING REPAIRED AFTER BEING FERRIED TO MDT.

CREW DECLARED AND EMERGENCY, CYCLED GEAR BUT INDICATION REMAINED UNSAFE, PERFORMED SEVERAL TOWER FLYBY'S AND GEAR APPEARED TO BE DOWN. FLIGHT LANDED SAFELY. FOUND SEVERAL LARGE CRACKS IN THE NOSE GEAR DECK. REPAIRED DECK AND SURROUNDING STRUCTURE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ENGINEERING ORDER EO8-53-07-3059.
