LEFT WING TOP SKIN JUST AFT OF FRONT SPAR, SKIN HAD 1 INCH CRACK AT XW 400, INBOARD THE NR 1 PYLON. INSTALLED DOUBLER AND FILLER, REPAIRED AREA IAW REA D857-41949MR AND DC-8 SRM 51-1-20B, 51-1-20D, 51-1-12 AND 51-1-15.
AUTO PRESSURIZATION WAS INOPERATIVE AND CABIN PRESSURIZATION COULD NOT BE CONTROLLED MANUALLY WITH ALL BLEEDS ON HIGH AND ALL CTC'S OPERATING. THE CREW DONNED OXYGEN MASKS AND DESCENDED TO FL 10. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED AND REMOVED A PIECE OF INSULATION FROM THE RIGHT SAFETY VALVE. OPERATION CHECKS WERE COMPLETED IAW DC-8 MM, AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
DURING CRUISE, LOWER CARGO SMOKE DETECTOR YELLOW MAINTENANCE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITH GREEN LIGHT ILLUMINATED. REPLACED SMOKE DETECTOR UNIT AT AD CNT. DUE TO FALSE ALARM FAULT CODE IAW DC-8 MM 26-15-00-4. SYSTEM OPS CHECKED GOOD.
THE CREW REPORTED THE STABILIZER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TO BE INOPERATIVE. THE LEFT SUITCASE HANDLE WAS JAMMED FULL FORWARD. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED AND REPLACED THE LEFT LONGITUDINAL TRIM ACTUATOR IAW DC8 MM.
ON FINAL APPROACH, WHEN LANDING GEAR LOWERED, HYDRAULIC PRESSURE WAS DECREASING RAPIDLY. PERFORMED LOSS OF HYDRAULICS CHECK LIST. AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED FROM RUNWAY DUE TO LACK OF BRAKE PRESSURE. REPLACED LANDING GEAR CONTROL VALVE IAW DC8 MM 22-32-7. OPS CHECKED GOOD.
CAPTAIN'S CLEARVIEW WINDOW WOULD NOT OPEN ALL THE WAY. CLEANED DEBRIS FROM TRACK AND LUBED CLEARVIEW WINDOW. ROLLERS OPS CHECKED OK IAW DC-8 SMM 56-10-3.
NR 4 ENGINE COMPRESSOR STALLED WHEN REDUCING POWER FROM CLIMB TO CRUISE. ENGINE OIL QUANTITY DROPPED RAPIDLY FROM 3.1 TO 1.6 GALLONS. SHUT ENGINE DOWN. REPLACED NR 4 ENGINE IAW ABX JOB CARD J-8090507. OPS AND LEAK CHECKED GOOD.
DURING APPROACH, ANTISKID LIGHT CAME ON 'LF0 AND LFI' LIGHTS ON SKID CONTROL PANEL WERE ON. AFTER RECYCLING THE GEAR, LIGHTS WENT OUT. TROUBLESHOT ANTISKID SYSTEM IAW DC8 MM. NO DEFECTS WERE FOUND, OPS CHECKED GOOD.
WHILE COMPLYING WITH AD 88-10-7, FOUND CRACK INDICATION ON LEFT FLAP DRIVE LINK STATION 98 AT POINT J, OUTBOARD LUG. REPLACED LINK IAW DC8 MM 27-51-4.

ON LANDING, WHEN GEAR HANDLE PLACED IN THE EXTEND POSITION, RIGHT GEAR DOWN LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. ACCOMPLISHED TOWER FLY-BY TO VERIFY GEAR DOWN. LANDING WAS UNEVENTFUL. REPLACED RIGHT MLG DOWN LOCK SWITCH, OPS CHECKED GOOD.
EMERGENCY EXIT LIGHTS DISARMED LIGHT CYCLED ON AND OFF WITH EMERGENCY SWITCH OFF. REPLACED EMERGENCY LIGHT BATTERY.
DURING COMPLIANCE WITH AD 90-16-05 AND SB 55-15R3, FOUND HORIZONTAL STABILIZER HAD .75 INCH CRACK, AT LT FORWARD LOWER CONSTANT BOX PANEL. PLACED ON CONTINUING INSPECTION EVERY 900 FLIGHT HOURS OR EVERY 3 MONTHS (WHICH EVER COMES FIRST) IAW DAC SB 55-15.
DURING CRUISE EXPERIENCED STRONG HYDRAULIC FLUID ODOR IN COCKPIT. FLUID ODOR WAS FOUND TO BE RESIDUAL FLUID FROM PREVIOUS HYDRAULIC LEAK AT CARGO DOOR HYDRAULIC PUMP. CLEANED RESIDUAL FLUID.
DURING CLIMB, AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL WAS EMITTED FROM THE CTC CONTROL PANEL WHEN THE NR 1 AND NR 4 CTC'S WERE TURNED ON. THE SMELL DISSIPATED AFTER THE CTC'S RAN FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS. VISUALLY INSPECTED THE CTC'S AND NO DEFECTS WERE NOTED. VISUALLY INSPECTED BEHIND THE CTC CONTROL PANEL FOR EVIDENCE OF BURNED WIRING OR SWITCHES AND NO DEFECTS WERE NOTED. OPERATED ALL FOUR CTC'S AND OPS CHECK WAS GOOD. NO EVIDENCE OF AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL.
FIRST OFFICER'S SEAT SLID BACK OUT OF LOCKED POSITION DURING TAKEOFF AND AGAIN DURING CRUISE. CLEANED AND LUBED FIRST OFFICER'S SEAT TRACKS AND OPS CHECKED GOOD.
FIRST OFFICER'S SEAT WILL NOT STAY IN A LOCKED POSITION. LUBRICATED FIRST OFFICER'S SEAT, OPS CHECK GOOD IN ALL POSITIONS.
LANDING GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. UPLATCH CHECK OK, WARNING HORN AUDIBLE WITH FLAPS OUT OF ZERO POSITION. RECYCLED GEAR, NO CHANGE NOTED. FOUND THROTTLE SWITCH AT FAULT. CORRECTED PROBLEM, GEAR INDICATION OPS CHECKED GOOD IAW DC-8 SUPPLEMENTAL MM 32-60-00.
RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR DOOR FAILED UPLATCH CHECK. RECYCLED GEAR. LIGHT EXTINGUISHED. CLEANED, INSPECTED AND LUBED THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR DOOR UPLATCH. PERFORMED ADJUSTMENT TEST IAW MAB 32-6. OPS CHECKED GOOD.
