Maintenance disclosures
ON APPROACH INTO KPPA FROM KLBB, THE PILOT SELECTED GEAR DOWN AND DISCOVERED THE LEFT LANDING GEAR DID NOT DEPLOY. AFTER COMPLYING WITH THE QRH CHECKLIST, THE PILOT MANUALLY EXTENDING THE LANDING GEAR AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY. THE LANDING AT KLBB WAS WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE PERFORMED AN OPERATIONAL CHECK OF THE LANDING GEAR SYSTEM AND FOUND A DEFECTED LEFT GEAR ACTUATOR. MAINTENANCE REMOVED AND INSTALLED A SERVICEABLE OVERHAULED ACTUATOR FOR THE LEFT GEAR. THE OPERATIONAL CHECK OF THE LANDING GEAR SYSTEM PERFORMED NORMALLY.
THE PILOT WAS ON APPROACH, WHEN THE LANDING GEAR WAS SELECTED DOWN, THERE WAS NO MOVEMENT OF THE GEAR AND NO INDICATION OF MOVEMENT. THE PILOT CALLED FOR A GO AROUND TO TROUBLESHOOT AND CYCLED THE LANDING GEAR AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULT. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT, THE PILOT RECEIVED A LOW HYDRAULIC WARNING LIGHT FOLLOWED BY THE LANDING GEAR CONTROL RELAY CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPPING. THE PILOT FOLLOWED EMERGENCY PROCEDURES AND PERFORMED A MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION AND THE RESULT WAS A THREE GREEN DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATIONS. LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE PLACED THE AIRCRAFT ON JACKS AND TROUBLESHOT THE LANDING GEAR SYSTEM. REMOVED AND REPLACED THE LANDING GEAR MOTOR WITH A SERVICEABLE UNIT. MAINTENANCE SERVICED THE HYDRAULICS AND PERFORMED GEAR SWINGS AND OPERATION OF THE LANDING GEAR WAS NORMAL. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE AND NO SUBSEQUENT ISSUES HAVE BEEN REPORTED.
ON FINAL, THE RT ENG POWER STUCK AT 800 LBS TORQUE & WOULD NOT ADJUST. PILOT DECIDED TO SHUT DOWN RT ENG. PILOT FOLLOWED PROCEDURES IN PILOT OPERATING HANDBOOK & PERFORMED A PRECAUTIONARY ENG SHUTDOWN. PILOT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. INSPECTION REVEALED THE BREATHER VENT LINE SCAT HOSE WAS CONTACTING THE POWER CONTROL ARM ON RT ENG. INSPECTION DID NOT REVEAL ANY DAMAGE TO THE BREATHER VENT LINE SCAT HOSE. REPOSITIONED BREATHER VENT LINE SCAT HOSE ON RT ENG. PERFORMED ENG RUN. PERATIONAL CHECK WAS NORMAL.
DURING CRUISE FLIGHT, THE PILOT OBSERVED THE LT ENG OIL TEMP WAS HIGHER THAN NORMAL & APPEARED TO BE APPROACHING THE RED LINE. PERFORMED A PRECAUTIONARY IN FLIGHT SHUT DOWN OF THE LT ENG & LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. INSPECTED THE LT ENG OIL FILTER, OIL COOLER & OIL COOLER INLET AREA, NO DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED. A GND RUN OF THE LT ENG WAS PERFORMED. ALL ENG PARAMETERS & INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL, COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE DISCREPANCY. AN OIL ANALYSIS WITH FILTER CHANGE WAS COMPLETED.
