DURING CREW RUN UP CHECKS PARKING BRAKES AND TOE BRAKES WILL NOT EFFECTIVELY HOLD AIRCRAFT. MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOT THE DISCREPANCY TO LEFT AND RIGHT OUTBOARD MAIN BRAKES APPROACHING THE MAXIMUM WEAR LIMITS. BRAKES WERE REPLACED. OPERATIONAL AND LEAK CHECKS COMPLIED WITH. AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
CREW PREFLIGHT NOTICED THE RUDDER PEDALS ARE LOOSE TO RUDDER MOVEMENT. TROUBLE SHOT THE DISCREPANCY TO LOOSE RIVETS ON RUDDER TORQUE SHAFT. TORQUE LINK & SHAFT WAS REPLACED WITH NEW PARTS. ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
DURING DESCENT, GEAR HANDLE SELECTED DOWN, CREW HEARD A LOUD CLUNK. THE RED GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT ILLUMINATED & GEAR DID NOT EXTEND. MISSED APPROACH & FLEW OVER TOWER WHO CONFIRMED GEAR WAS NOT EXTENDED. GEAR HANDLE WAS SELECTED UP & LOUD CLUNK WAS HEARD AGAIN. IN PREPARATION FOR MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION, GEAR HANDLE WAS SELECTED DOWN & NORMAL GEAR EXTENSION WAS OBSERVED WITH 3 GREEN GEAR INDICATOR LIGHTS. CREW DIVERTED THE ACFT, LANDING WAS UNEVENTFUL. ACFT WAS FERRIED WITH LG EXTENDED TO THE SERVICE CTR. REPLACED THE LG CONTROL ASSEMBLY. PERFORMED SEVERAL GEAR SWINGS WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
SMOKE IN COCKPIT & CABIN DURING FLIGHT. CREW USED OXYGEN MASK DURING LANDING AS PRECAUTION. LANDING WAS UNEVENTFUL. TROUBLE SHOT THE DISCREPANCY TO A FAULTY STATIC INVERTER IN AFT CABIN. STATIC INVERTER WAS REPLACED. OPERATIONS CHECKED OK & ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
