DURING A MAINTENANCE VISIT, THE EMERGENCY FLOOR PROXIMITY LIGHTS AT SEATS 10B, 10C AND 12B WERE FOUND TO BE INOPERATIVE. MAINTENANCE REPLACED THE FLOOR PROXIMITY LIGHT ASSEMBLY. SYSTEM OPERATION WAS NORMAL AFTER THE FLOOR PROXIMITY LIGHTS WERE REPLACED.

SMELL CLEARED IN LESS THAN ONE MINUTE. ATL MX ASKED THAT THE UPPER RECIRC SWITCH TO BE TURNED OFF. NO FURTHER INDICATIONS. REPLACED FAN CKS GOOD. REINSTALLED CEILING PANELS, REMOVED MCO PLAC P/N 4100945A.
UNUSUALLY STRONG ODOR NOTED IN MAIN E/E COMPARTMENT. COULD NOT POSITIVELY IDENTIFY NATURE OF ODOR. PERFORMED INSP OF E/E ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AND WIRING. NO TROUBLE FOUND. ALL C/B-S IN. INSPECT FWD CARGO BIN. ALL OKAY. ODOR DISSIPATED AFTER 2 HOURS. MAIN E/E COMPARTMENT LIGHTS NOTED TO GO INTERMITTENTLY DIM THEN BRIGHT. AFTER 2 HOURS LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY UNCONTROLLABLE FROM E/E LIGHTS SWITCHES IN BOTH ON OR OFF POSITIONS. FWD TO MCO AND PLAC 33-31-01. C/B PULLED AND COLLARED. REPLACED DEFECTIVE SWITCH. E AND E LIGHTS WORKING NORMAL. ETOPS CATEGORY 'E': PROBLEMS WITH SYSTEMS CRITICAL TO ETOPS.

"C" SYSTEM HYDRAULIC QUANTITY LEVEL DECREASED IN FLIGHT. EMERGENCY LANDING DECLARED TO AIRPORT. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.AIRCRAFT TOWED TO GATE. FOUND C2 ELECTRIC HYDRAULIC PUMP LEAKING. PUMP REPLACED.

FLT RETURNED TO JFK DUE TO POSSIBLE BIRD STRIKE. PERFORMED BIRD STRIKE INSPECTION, FOUND SMALL AMOUNT OF BLOOD ON LOWER FUSELAGE JUST AFT OF RIGHT NOSE GEAR DOOR. ALSO SMALL SPOT OF BLOOD ON RIGHT INBOARD TRAILING EDGE FLAP. OTHERWISE THERE WAS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO THESE AREAS. INSPECTION OF THE REST OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS ALL OK.
