PILOT REPORTED THAT ON CLIMBOUT, NOTICED THE AILERON TRIM SEEMED TO BE FROZEN AND FELT LIKE IT WAS BINDING. WHEN TRYING TO ADJUST IT WOULD ONLY MOVE A LITTLE AND THEN SPRING BACK RIGHT AWAY. PILOT DECIDED TO RETURN TO DEPARTURE AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. EMERGENCY WAS NOT DECLARED. MX VERIFIED DISCREPANCY AND MOVED ACFT TO THE HANGAR AND ALLOWED IT TO WARM UP IN THE HANGAR. MX COMPLIED WITH MM INSPECTION TASK 27-10-02-640 (AILERON TRIM LUBRICATION) IAW MM 12-21-00, SECTION 3, TABLE 1. AILERON TRIM ACTUATOR FUNCTIONAL AND OPS GROUND CHECKED GOOD, SYS MOVES FREELY AND CORRECT. ACFT WAS RELEASED FOR AN OPS CHECK FLIGHT. OPS CHECK FLIGHT WAS COMPLETED AND AILERON TRIM CHECKS WERE GOOD IN ALL PHASES OF FLIGHT. ACFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.

ON RUN-UP BEFORE TAKEOFF, THE PILOT HEARD A POPPING NOISE AND RETURNED TO THE BLOCKS TO HAVE MAINTENANCE INSPECT THE NOSE LANDING GEAR. MAINTENANCE DISCOVERED THAT THE NOSE GEAR SPRING HAD BROKEN COMPLETELY AWAY AT THE REAR ATTACHMENT POINT (BEARING CAP/SUPPORT). THE APPARENT CAUSE OF PROBLEM, FAILURE OF NOSE GEAR SPRING (REAR DRAG LINK). MAINTENANCE IS REMOVING AND REPLACING THE NOSE GEAR SPRING. THE DEFECTIVE SECTION WILL BE SENT OUT FOR METALLURGICAL ANALYSIS TO DETERMINE IF A FLEETWIDE INSPECTION IS WARRANTED. THE AIRCRAFT IS EXPECTED TO RETURN TO SERVICE ON 10/6/05.

GFK - FLT 7563 - DURING CRUISE, THE PILOT NOTICED THE CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE PROP ANTI-ICE WAS OPEN. THE PITOT RESET THE CIRCUIT BREAKER, AND A BURNED PLASTIC SMELL WAS EMANATING FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NEAR THE PROP ANTI-ICE AMMETER. POWER WAS REMOVED FROM THE CIRCUIT WHILE THE COCKPIT WAS VENTILATED, AND THE FLIGHT CONTINUED UNEVENTFULLY. A SHORT CIRCUIT EVENT DUE TO A FAULTY WIRING CONNECTION THAT WAS MADE DURING A PREVIOUS MAINTENANCE VISIT. THE SYSTEM WAS TROUBLESHOT, FAULT WIRING CONNECTION WAS CORRECTED, WIRE HA32 LEADING FROM THE PROP DE-ICE AMMETER, AND CONNECTINOR P161 WAS REPLACED, THE SYSTEM WAS OPS CHECKED, AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
