AIR TURN BACK TO DEPARTURE DUE TO A LOUD VIBRATION FELT ON CLIMB OUT. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED OVERWEIGHT. ALTHOUGH NO EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED THE AIRCRAFT WAS MET BY AIRPORT EMERGENCY CREW. MAINTENANCE COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE VIBRATION BUT ADJUSTED R/H ELECTRONIC BAY VENT VALVE AND TIGHTENED CLAMP ON R/H RAM AIR VALVE DUCT FOR PRECAUTIONARY PURPOSES.

TRIP NR 1117761 CREW NOTED A GRINDING NOISE AND BURNING SMELL WHEN SELECTING THE NR 2 ACM. SYSTEM WAS TURNED OFF AND THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO THE DESTINATION. SYSTEM WAS MEL`D AND AIRCRAFT WAS MOVED WHERE MAINTENANCE CONFIRMED THE GRINDING NOISE WAS ORIGINATING FROM THE NR 2 ACM. MAINTENANCE REPLACED THE NR 2 ACM UNIT.
