AIRCRAFT WAS GROUNDED: ON LANDING ROLLOUT CREW FELT A HEAVY SHIMMY WITH UNCONTROLLABLE STEERING WHICH RESULTED IN THE FAILURE OF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR STEERING SYSTEM. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED. MAINTENANCE PERFORMED A PRELIMINARY EVALUATION OF THE NOSE GEAR WHEEL STERRING ASSEMBLY AND DISCOVERED THE CENTER APEX PIN FOR THE TORSION LINKS WAS BROKEN AND HAD CAUSED THE TORSION LINKS TO DISCONNECT AT THE CENTER ATTACH POINT WHICH CAUSED THE LOSS OF STEERING OF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR. **SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT: REPLACED BROKEN TORSION LINK APEX PIN, INSTALLED NEW UPPER AND LOWER TORSION LINKS AND ACCOMPLISHED A SATISFACTORY OPERATIONAL CHECK PER AMM 32-21-31.**(CLOSED)

MAINTENANCE ACCOMPLISHED BITE CHECK OF BOTH CABIN PRESSURE CONTROLLERS, NO FAULTS FOUND. ACCOMPLISHED GROUND PRESSURIZATION TEST IAW AMM 21-31-00. ALL TESTS NORMAL. A/C OK FOR SERVICE.
AIRCRAFT NOT GROUNDED: PILOT REPORTS PWS FAIL ILLUMINATED ON THE CA ND DURING TAKEOFF ROLL, BOTH CA AND FO LOST THERE FDS ONCE AIRBORNE THE CAS TCAS FAILED AND BOTH FDS CAME BACK.THEN THE CA NOTICED HE HAD NO HEADING BUG ON THE ND, THE F/O HAD A HEADING BUG AND HE WAS THE PILOT FLYING. THE IFSD ALSO HAD A HEADING FLAG IN VIEW THROUGHOUT THE FLIGHT. THE HUD ALSO HAS NO HEADING INDICATION. I PUT IRS SWITCH BOTH ON RIGHT AND ALL OF THE CAS INDICATION RETURNED TO NORMAL. INST SWITCH ILLUMINATED ON BOTH NDS. MAINTENANCE ACCOMPLISHED FIM TASK 34-21-00-810-801. NO MTC ACTION REQUIRED. NO FAULTS, FAILURES OR WARNINGS DISPLAYED. A/C OK FOR SERVICE.
