Maintenance disclosures
THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED THAT DURING FLIGHT RECEIVING A CAS MESSAGES "FAULT CODE" AND "DEGRADED GAUGING" WERE DISPLAYED. THE MAINTENANCE TEAM TROUBLESHOT AND VERIFIED THE DISCREPANCY. THE LEFT OUTBOARD WING TANK GAUGE (L40QJ) WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A NEW GAUGE. FUNCTIONAL AND LEAK CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED THAT DURING FLIGHT A CAS MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED INDICATING "FAULT CODE" AND "DEGRADED GAUGING". THE MAINTENANCE TEAM TROUBLESHOT AND DETERMINED THAT THE LEFT OTBD WING TANK GAUGE (L40QJ) WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS REPLACED WITH NEW. FUNCTIONAL TEST AND LEAK CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, THE CREW RECEIVED AN AMBER CAS MESSAGE INDICATING THAT THE RADIO CABINET NR 1 HAD FAILED. BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THE FAULT, THE CREW ELECTED TO DIVERT THE FLIGHT FOR EVALUATIONS AND REPAIRS. MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOT THE FAULT AND DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE NETWORK INTERFACE MODULE. THIS COMPONENT HAS A HIGH FAILURE RATE IN THE FLEET. THE NIM UNIT WAS REPLACED WITH A REPAIRED UNIT.
THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL REPORTS FROM THE FLIGHT CREW ABOUT A FALSE INTERMITTENT WARNING WITH THE GEAR HANDLE FLASHING RED NORMALLY 45 MIN INTO FLIGHT. THE GEAR HANDLE LIGHT ALWAYS CLEARED DURING THE APPROACH TO LANDING. EACH REPORT WAS MET WITH TROUBLESHOOTING & A NO FAULT FOUND & NO CAS MSGS. TECH SUPPORT RECOMMEND THE REPLACEMENT OF COMMON SUSPECTED GEAR INDICATION COMPONENT, BUT TO NO AVAIL. A DIFFERENT VENDOR WAS ALLOWED TO FLY WITH A LAPTOP HOOKED TO THE CMC. AFTER THE FLIGHT THEY DETERMINED A LG UPLOCK WAS DEFECTIVE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO VERIFY WHICH ONE WAS BAD. ALL THREE UPLOCKS WERE REPLACED. THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
DURING POST FLIGHT CHECKS IT WAS FOUND THAT THE LT WING TRANSFER PUMP ANNUNCIATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. TROUBLESHOOTING CONFIRMED THAT THE LT WING TRANSFER PUMP PN 206311-50 SN B81947 HAD FAILED & WAS REMOVED FROM SERVICE & REPLACED WITH AN OVERHAULED UNIT. OPERATIONS CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY.
THE CREW REPORTED THAT DURING TAXI OUT FOR FLIGHT THAT A NR 3 EIED FAULT WAS NOTED. THE NR 3 ENG OIL FILTER WAS REMOVED & INSPECTED, NO DEFECTS WERE NOTED. PERFORMED AN ENG OIL SAMPLE IAW TFE731 LMM. PERFORMED GND & LEAK CHECKS, LEAK CHECKED OK & OIL SAMPLE REPORT WAS NORMAL.
DURING THE POST FLIGHT INSPECTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE NR 2 ENG FUEL CONTROL P3 DRAIN. THE FUEL CONTROL WAS REPLACED WITH AN OVERHAULED UNIT. FUNCTIONAL & LEAK CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY.
DURING THE POST FLIGHT INSPECTION IT WAS NOTED THAT THE NR 1 SYS, PUMP NR 2 PRESS SWITCH, 11D2 WAS LEAKING. THE PRESS SWITCH WAS REMOVED & THE NEW STYLE SWITCH WAS INSTALLED. FUNCTIONAL & LEAK CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY IAW MM 29-11-25-900-801-02.
THE CREW REPORTED THAT THE NR 2 FEEDER TANK WOULD NOT FUEL TO THE HIGH LEVEL. TROUBLESHOOTING IDENTIFIED THE HIGH LOW SWITCH (63Q) ON THE FUEL PANEL SWITCH AS DEFECTIVE. REPLACED THE SWITCH WITH NEW. FUNCTIONAL CHECKS SATISFACTORY. REF: MM 28-50-60-650-901.
CREW REPORTED THE TCAS SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAYS TCAS FAIL, TD FAIL, TCAS OFF. TROUBLESHOT AND FOUND THE TTR-920 TCAS COMPUTER DEFECTIVE. REMOVED COMPUTER AND INSTALLED AN O/H UNIT PN 622-8971-122. FUNCTIONAL CHECKS SATISFACTORY.
CREW REPORTED THE NR 3 ENGINE HAD ROTATION DURING START BUT WOULD NOT IGNITE. TROUBLESHOOTING IDENTIFIED THE IGNITER EXCITER AS DEFECTIVE. INSTALLED AN O/H EXCITER, FUNCTIONAL CHECKS SATISFACTORY.
THE CREW REPORTED THAT ON TAKEOFF ROLL, THE COPILOTS AIRSPEED NEVER CAME ALIVE (INDICATED). GAINED ACCESS TO THE NR 2 PITOT AND FOUND DIRT AND DEBRIS CONSISTANT WITH THE MUD DOBBER WASP NEST. TUBE WAS CLEANED AND SYS CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY. THE CREW WAS ADVISED TO INSTALL PITOT/STATIC PORT COVERS AFTER FLIGHT.
THE CREW REPORTED THAT NR 2 IAS INOPERATIVE WITH "Q" ANNUNCIATOR ILLUMINATED, GEAR WARING AND AUTO SLAT ANNUNCIATOR ILLUMINATED AND POWER LEVER ANGLES REDUCED. CREW REPORTS, Q LIGHT 180 KNOTS AND AUTO-SLAT LIGHT ABOVE 280 KNOTS. TROUBLESHOOTING IDENTIFIED THE NR 2 ADC AS BEING FAULTY. SN 3918 REMOVED, INSTALLED OVERHAULED PN 822-1036-467, SN 21LR. PERFORMED RVSM SYS FUNCTIONAL AS REQUIRED.
CREW REPORTED THAT DURING TAXI SPEEDS THE WHEEL BRAKES WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT APPLY WHEN SELECTED. FOUND THE NR 2 WHEEL ANTI-SKID TRANSDUCER TO HAVE AN ABOVE NORMAL INTERNAL RESISTANCE. AN OVERHAULED TRANSDUCER WAS INSTALLED. FUNCTIONAL CHECKED SATISFACTORY.
THE CREW REPORTED THAT ON DESCENT THE CABIN RATE INDICATOR WOULD GO OUT OF THE GREEN BAND. TROUBLESHOT THE PRESSURIZATION SYS WITH TECH SUPPORT. SUSPECT FAULTY PRESSURIZATION SELECTOR. REMOVED DEFECTIVE SELECTOR AND INSTALLED INSPECTED UNIT. OFF PN 22201N071000, OFF SN 267. REF: AMM CH 21-319.
DURING THE POST FLIGHT INSPECTION WALK AROUND IT WAS NOTED THAT THE NR 2 ENGINE GREEN SHEET ON THE LT SIDE WAS FOUND CRACKED AND TORN LOOSE FROM ITS ATTACHMENT. THE DAMAGED GREEN SHEET WAS FOUND VIEWED FROM THE EXHAUST END OF ENGINE. THE ATTACHMENT POINTS FOR GREEN SHEET WERE FOUND TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION AND TIGHT. SEVERAL LARGE CRACKS WERE NOTED ALONG THE FORWARD EDGE OF THE ASSY.
CREW REPORTED THAT THE "RUDDER WAS STIFF AFTER COLD SOAK" TROUBLSHOOTING REALLY COULDN'T DUPLICATE DISCREPANCY, BUT THE RUDDER AFU WAS LUBED DURING A RECENT C CHECK. REMOVED THE RUDDER AFU P/N 105043-07 S/N 1156. INSTALLED A REPAIRED AFU S/N 1138. CREW REPORTED THAT THE RUDDER SYSTEM OPERATED CORRECTLY AFTER REMOVED AND REPLACED.
