Part: MOTOR — FAILED (BLOWER)
DURING OPERATION SMOKE WAS NOTICED IN THE COCKPIT AND A PRCAUTIONARY LANDING WAS MADE. MAINTENANCE FOUND THE FORWARD EVAPORATOR BLOWER MOTOR, WHEN OPERATED ON HIGH, BEGAN TO SLOW AND SMOKE AFTER APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES. SUSPECTED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE ARMATURE WINDINGS.

PILOT REPORT SMELLING SMOKE IN COCKPIT. LANDED SAFELY. UPON INVESTIGATION FOUND FWD EVAPORATOR MOTOR HAD A BURN SMELL. REPLACED, OPS CHS GOOD. NO CHAPTER 4 OR 5 TIME ITEMS OR EVAPORATOR BLOWER ASSY OR INSPECTION OF BRUSHES.
