DURING A 24-MONTH PITOT/STATIC SYSTEM CERTIFICATION, ALL STATIC DRAIN VALVES WERE FOUND SEALED WITH 'RTV' SILICON SEALANT. ONE DRAIN VALVE SPINDLE WAS FOUND TO PASS THROUGH VALVE BUSH WHEN THE STATIC DRAIN WAS CLEARED OF 'RTV'. THE SPINDLE HAD BEEN ALTERED TO PASS THROUGH THE DRAIN BUSH.

DURING REPLACEMENT OF LT FAIRING STRUT PLATE, FOUND AN OLD SHIM INSTALLED BETWEEN BEARING ITEM 145 AND PLATE ITEM 135 ON THE LOWER LEG OF THE LT SIDESTAY LOOKING IN HAWKER ILLUSTRATED PARTS LISTING 32-10-00-30, PAGE 0. THERE SHOULD NOT BE A SHIM INSTALLED BETWEEN ITEM 145 AND ITEM 135. DURING THE INVESTIGATING OF THE .060 INCH SHIM, FOUND SHIM TO HAVE DEEP BRINELLING FROM RIDING ON BEARING. IN LOOKING IN THE IPC, WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND .060 INCH SHIM LISTED. THE ONLY SHIMS LISTED WERE .040 INCH, .020 INCH, .050 INCH, AND .010 INCH SHIMS; THEREFORE, AN IMPROPER SHIM WAS INSTALLED ON THE LT SIDESTAY. THIS AREA OF THE SIDESTAY SHOULD BE INSPECTED DURING THE REMOVAL OF SIDESTAY OR AT 48-MONTH INSPECTION.

COULD NOT OBTAIN CLEARANCE BETWEEN CAM FACE AND ROLLER WHEN MLG SIDE STAY WAS FOLDED. FOUND SIDE STAY SPRING STRUT WAS NOT ALLOWING FULL SLOT TRAVEL. REMOVED SPRING STRUT, DISASSEMBLED AND FOUND SPRING COIL IN SPRING STRUT HAD CORRODED INTO TWO PIECES CAUSING IMPROPER OPERATION OF SPRING STRUT. SUGGEST THAT SPRING STRUT BE REMOVED, CLEANED, INSPECTED, LUBBED, AND REINSTALLED AT A MORE FREQUENT INTERVAL THAN 4,000 LANDINGS. SUGGEST AN INSPECTION OF 600 HOURS OR 24 MONTHS. LANDINGS, 2,150.

WHILE C/W RAYTHEON SB 35-3014 (INSPECTION OF PASSENGER OXYGEN FACE MASKS FOR TEARS IN FACE CUSHIONS), FIVE MASKS WERE FOUND TORN. THE CORE DATES WERE FROM 1986, NOT 1994 AS LISTED IN THE SB. SUBMITTER STATED THIS IS THE SECOND HAWKER 800 FOUND WITH EXACT SAME PROBLEM. RECOMMEND PB AND RAYTHEON REVISE SB'S TO INCLUDE EARLIER CURE DATES. NELLCOR PURITAN BENNETT SB NR C351-2000-35-1 R1.
