ENROUTE, HAD TWO NR 1 ENGINE CHIP LIGHTS AND WAS ABLE TO CLEAR WITH THE ZAPPER. THE THIRD CHIP LIGHT COULD NOT BE CLEARED, PILOT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. NO ENGINE PARAMETERS INDICATED OUTSIDE OF THE NORMAL RANGE AT ANY TIME. MECHANIC FOUND TWO & THREE BEARING CHIP DETECTOR (AFT) TO CONTAIN METAL PARTICLES OUT OF LIMITS IAW THE MM. ACFT REMOVED FROM SERVICE.
CORROSION FOUND COMING FROM UNDER PROTECTOR PLATE ON EXTERIOR OF PANEL ASSY. (LT ENGINE DOOR) PANEL WAS REMOVED AND SENT TO VENDOR FOR REPAIR.
CORROSION FOUND COMING FROM UNDER PROTECTIVE PLATE ON EXTERIOR OF PANEL ASSY. (RT ENGINE DOOR) PANEL WAS REMOVED AND SENT TO VENDOR FOR REPAIR.
ENROUTE, CHIP LIGHT CAME ON AND A SECOND OR 2 LATER ALOUD GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD. NR 2 ENG SPOOLED BACK WITH ASSOCIATED LIGHTS. REDUCED POWER & AIRSPEED & FOUND A SUITABLE FIELD AND PREFORMED A RUN ON LANDING WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE ACFT. FOUND BOTH MAIN GEARBOX OIL FILTERS BYPASS BUTTONS POPPED. FOUND CATEGORY D,E,F, AND G PARTICLES ON CHIP DETECTORS IAW FIG 11-7 AND TABLE 11-2 OF MM CHAP 11. FOUND MGB OIL LEVEL SERVICED TO NORMAL OPERATING LEVEL; NO OIL LEAKS NOTED. REMOVED NR 2 ENGINE DRIVESHAFT INPUT COVER, FOUND NO OBVIOUS DAMAGE TO DRIVESHAFT OR COUPLING. TURNED MAIN ROTOR IN DIRECTION OF FLIGHT, NO BINDING OR UNUSUAL NOISE NOTED. BOTH ENGINE DRIVESHAFTS ALSO ROTATE WITHOUT BINDING. BOTH ENGINE OIL TANKS SERVICED TO NORMAL LEVELS; ENGINE FILTER BYPASS BUTTONS WERE NOT POPPED. DETERMINED ACFT UNAIRWORTHY TO START OR FLY DUE TO AMOUNT AND TYPE OF METAL PARTICLES FOUND ON MGB CHIP DETECTORS, IN ADDITION TO MGB OIL FILTER BYPASS BUTTONS BEING POPPED.
DURING VISUAL INSPECTION FOUND A HOLE IN THE BELLY OF THE AIRCRAFT CENTERLINE JUST FORWARD OF THE REAR CROSSTUBE AREA. HOLE IS 20MM IN DIAMETER.
TAILBOOM WAS FOUND TO HAVE 32 RIVETS IN THE AFT PART OF TOP SKIN THAT WERE TOO SHORT. RECEIVED REPAIRED.
MAIN TRANSMISSION OIL PRESSURE GAUGE. NR 1 AND NR 2 ON SINGLE GAUGE. NR 1 NEEDLE ERRATIC DURING GROUND RUNS. RECEIVED GAUGE AS REPAIRED UNIT.
WHILE PERFORMING AIRWORTHINESS CK, MECHANIC FOUND CRACK IN OB LOWER END OF MAIN ROTOR BLADE CUFF (BLADE FITTING 0 DEGREE - NEW STYLE) EXTENDING FROM THE BLADE ROOT OPENING TO THE ATTACHMENT BOLT THAT HOLDS THE UPPER AND LOWER CUFF HALVES TOGETHER ON THE SECONDARY BOLT SIDE OF THE CUFF.
