PILOT HEARD A LOUD BANG COMING FROM THE NR 1 ENGINE AND FELT A SLIGHT YAW. THE NR 1 ENG CHIP, NR 1 ENG FAIL AND NR 1 ENG FIRE CAUTION LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. PILOT PERFORMED A SINGLE ENGINE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN AND MADE A RUNNING LANDING.
NR 2 AC INVERTER INTERMITTENT OPERATION. REPLACED AC INVERTER WITH NEW S/N 561.
METRO AVIATION VAPOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM: 90 DEGREE GEARBOX SIEZED CAUSING INTERNAL SHAFT SHEER. ALSO FLEX DRIVESHAFT TO 90 DEGREE GEARBOX COUPLING SHEERED. REPLACED 90 DEGREE GEARBOX, FLEX DRIVESHAFT, AND COMPRESSOR.
UPON TAKEOFF OF AN INTER-FACILITY TRANSPORT, THE AIR CONDITIONING 90 DEGREE GEARBOX SEIZED CAUSING SHAFT TO SHEAR IN GEARBOX AND COUPLING TO SHEAR ON DRIVESHAFT. COUPLING SHEAR CAUSED SEVERE VIBRATIONS FORCING PILOT TO RETURN TO TAKEOFF POINT AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. PROBABLE CAUSE SHAFT SHEAR STRENGTH TOO HIGH. LOWER SHEAR STRENGTH, BELIEVE THIS WAS AN ISOLLATED OCCURANCE.
ENGINE DEGRADE LIGHT IN FLIGHT RETURNING TO BASE. MEMORY FAULT CODES 117 & 118. (RESOLVER & FEDEC FAIL) FAULT CODES CLEARED UPON NEXT START, HOWEVER TOT DURING START REACHED 895 FOR ONE SECOND. REPLACED HMU WITH S/N 198B.
