LOSS OF HYDRAULIC PRESSURE IN FLIGHT, EMERGENCY LANDING OCCURRED. AFTER INSPECTING HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FOUND HYDRAULIC PUMP SPLINES WORN AND NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL.
PILOT REPORTED BURNING ELECTRICAL ODOR IN COCKPIT AND MADE PRECAUTIONARY LANDING TO PRIVATE HELIPORT. LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED AND CONFIRMED ODOR. USING AN INFRARED SCANNER. THE LOCAL F/D IDENTIFIED A HEAT SOURCE TO BE COMING FROM THE PILOTS FLIGHT DISPLAY. CONTRACT MECHANIC REMOVED PILOT`S FLIGHT DISPLAY AND CONFIRMED IT WAS WARM TO THE TOUCH. A SERVICEABLE PFD WAS INSTALLED AND OPERATIONALLY CHECK OK. THE ACFT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY RETURNED TO SERVICE.
ENG TORQUE BEGAN FLUCTUATING +- 15 PERCENT. CHANGED DOUBLE CHECK VALVE, GROUND RUN, STILL FLUCTUATING; CHANGED GOVERNOR, GROUND RUN, STILL FLUCTUATING; CHANGED BLEED VALVE, GROUND RUN, NO FLUCTUATIONS; PICKED UP ACFT TO HOVER AND FUEL CONTROL FAILED CAUSING HIGH SIDE INCREASES IN TORQUE AND N1; ROLLED OFF THROTTLE AND PERFORMED HOVERING AUTOROTATION AND SHUTDOWN ENGINE. CHANGED FUEL CONTROL. GROUND AND FLIGHT CHECK NORMAL.
