Maintenance disclosure history

Service Difficulty Reports are self-reported maintenance findings. The NUMBER of reports is not a measure of reliability — diligent operators file more, not fewer. These are shown for transparency, not as a negative signal. To verify a report, search its control number at the FAA SDRS site.

Reports span 2016–2016. Most-reported systems: ATA 85 — 1. Most-common natures of condition, as filed: INADEQUATE Q C; PARTIAL RPM/PWR LOSS — 1.

Part: CYLINDER — FAILED (ENGINE)

EXCHANGE CYLINDER INSTALLED AND FAILED AFTER 1.3 HRS. POST INSPECTION OF CYLINDER REVEALED THAT THERE WAS PREVIOUS WELDING REPAIR TO UPPER SPARK PLUG AREA. CYLINDER WAS NOT PROPERLY REPAIRED AND INSPECTED BY REPAIR STATION. SPARK PLUG AREA CRACKED OUT CAUSING LACK OF COMPRESSION AND HOT EXHAUST GASSES ESCAPING AND CAUSING EGT PROBE TO FAIL. COMPLETE FAILURE, BLOW OUT, HAPPENED DURING GROUND RUN, NO AIRFRAME DAMAGE AS THE ENGINE WAS NOT COWLED.
