PILOT REPORTED AN ENGINE CHIP LIGHT DURING APPROACH TO LANDING. MAINTENANCE FOUND ACCEPTABLE CHIPS ON UPPER AND LOWER PLUGS. THE PLUGS WERE CLEANED AND REINSTALLED AND A PENALTY RUN WAS PERFORMED. THE PLUGS WERE RECHECKED AND FOUND CLEAN. AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
