Maintenance disclosure history

Service Difficulty Reports are self-reported maintenance findings. The NUMBER of reports is not a measure of reliability — diligent operators file more, not fewer. These are shown for transparency, not as a negative signal. To verify a report, search its control number at the FAA SDRS site.

Reports span 2002–2002. Most-reported systems: ATA 85 — 2. Most-common natures of condition, as filed: FLAME/FIRE — 1; OTHER — 1.

2 reports on file.

Part: STUD — SHEARED (CRANKCASE)

CYLINDER BASE STUDS ON NR 8 CYLINDER SHEARED OFF, ALLOWING CYLINDER TO PULL OFF OF CYLINDER BASE SPIGOT. WHEN THE CYLINDER GOT FAR ENOUGH OFF THE SPIGOT, THE BOTTOM RING SNAGGED THE BOTTOM OF THE CYLINDER, BREAKING THE RING AND PISTON. THIS LET THE OIL ESCAPE, AND THE ENGINE LOST OIL PRESSURE. THE CREW FEATHERED THE RIGHT PROP ON APPROACH.
