UPON CARRYING OUT A BOROSCOPE OF THE ENGINE HOT SECTION , WHILE TRYING TO GAIN AN ENGINE EXTENSION. BORESCOPED C.C.LINER, H.P..T. BLADES, H.P.T. STATOR, SMALL EXIT DUCT, AND SHROUD SEGMENTS, L.P.T. ROTOR ASSEBLY. H.P.T. BLADE HAS IMPACT DAMAGE. H.P.T. STATOR ASSEMBLY INNER RING CRACKED, VANE CRACKED AND MISSING MATERIAL.
A FIRE WARNING OCCURRED DURING CLIMBOUT. ON THE RT ENGINE. NO EMERGENCY DECLARED. AIRCRAFT MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING. NO SECONDARY INDICATION OF MALFUNCTION WERE EVIDENT. CREW COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. RT ENGINE FIRE DETECTOR CONNECTOR.
AIRCRAFT PITCH TRIM CONTROL FROZE IN PLACE, DURING FLIGHT, DUE TO THE RIGHT PITCH TRIM ACTUATOR CHAIN SPROCKET PN 556450-6 BECOMING DISLODGED FROM ACTUATOR DUE TO ATTACHMENT PIN FOR THE SPROCKET PN S2637-6Z11 COMING OUT OF THIS SPROCKET TO SHAFT ATTACHMENT. ACTUATOR WAS REPLACED WITH ANOTHER, SAME PN, OVERHAULED UNIT. PITCH TRIM SYSTEM RIGGING SET AND OPERATIONAL TESTED GOOD.DETAILED INFORMATION ON THIS REPAIR IS ON FILE ON W.O. 5868.
DECENDING, AFTER A 3 HOUR FLIGHT, THE CREW SMELLED FUMES WHILE PASSING THROUGH 8,000 FEET. FUMES WERE ALSO EXHAUST TYPE FUMES. THE CREW TURNED TEMPERATURE CONTROL TO FULL COLD. THE SMELL DISAPPEARED. LEVEL AT 4,000 FEET ON DOWNWIND LEG , THE CREW SELECTED INCREASED HEAT ON TEMP CONTROLLER. THE FUMES RETURNED AFTER A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND THE COCKPIT STARTED FILLING WITH SMOKE. THE CREW DONNED O2 MASKS, DROPED PAX O2 MASKS AND DUMPED PRESSURIZATION. AFTER TURNING TEMPERATURE CONTROL TO FULL COLD, THE COCKPIT REMAINED CLEAR OF ANY FRESH SMOKE.
