READY FOR DEPARTURE ENGINE WILL NOT START. AMBER ARC FOR NG AND TORQUE INDICATIONS WITH AMBER AND RED GOV LIGHT. HMU WILL NOT GO THROUGH START TEST.

WEAR DAMAGE WAS NOTED ON THE LT X-FRAME P/N 350A21-4450.20 ON THE INSIDE AFT SURFACE OF THE LOWER LEG.
FOUND APPROX 2.5" CRACK ON UPPER RT SIDE OF HORIZONTAL STABILIZER. APPROX 4" AFT OF THE STABILIZER MOUNT.
ON START-UP, THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE NR INDICATION WAS AT 364 INSTEAD OF 394 & WAS FLUCTUATING DOWN TO 351. BOTH THE ANALOG NRS & THE DIGITAL NRS ARC WERE FLUCTUATING & THAT THE NF HAD EVERY OTHER SEGMENT OF THE DIGITAL ARC NOT ILLUMINATED. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING, THE ENTIRE SYS IAW MM CH 63-41-00,1-1 NO DEFECTS FOUND. ADVISED TO LOOK FOR BROKEN FINGER OR FINGERS ON THE PHENOLIC WHEEL IN THE MAIN GEAR BOX. ONE FINGER WAS FOUND MISSING. MAINTENANCE WILL BE DONE TO RETURN THIS ACFT TO SERVICE. THIS WAS DISCOVERED ON A GND RUN, 0 FLIGHT TIME RECORDED.
THE PILOT STARTED THE ACFT ENG WITH THE INTENTION OF TAKEOFF, WHEN JUST BEFORE, HE OBTAINED AN ENG CHIP LIGHT. THE MISSION WAS ABORTED & THE ACFT WAS SHUT DOWN. TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM, FOUND THE ENG CHIP DETECTOR FULL OF METALLIC MATERIAL. HE REFERRED TO THE MM & TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE FOR THE ENG. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS MAINTENANCE EVENT IS CURRENTLY IN WORK & THE ACFT REMAINS OUT OF SERVICE.
