AIRCRAFT SINGLE ENGINE TAKE OFF #1 ENGINE AT FLY # 2 ENGINE AT IDLE. TRGB HAD A CHIP WHICH REQUIRED TRGB CHANGE. SDR SUBMITTED PER COMPANY POLICY.
WHILE PERFORMING 1600 HR SPACER TUBE INSPECTION ON MAIN TRANSMISSION, TECHNICIAN NOTICED PAINT COMING OFF OF COLLECTOR WHEEL ABOVE SPLINED AREA, REMOVED PEALING PAINT TO DISCOVER CORROSION AND PITTING ON COLLECTOR WHEEL. THIS AIRCRAFT CURRENTLY REMAINS OOS AT THE TIME OF THIS SUBMISSION WHILE THE TRANSMISSION IS BEING REPLACED.
DURING EVENING SHIFT PREFLIGHT, PILOT DISCOVERED A NOTICEABLE CRACK ON THE RT SIDE OF TAIL BOOM RING FRAME. REMOVED PAINT & INSPECTED AFFECTED AREA WITH DYE PENETRATE WHICH PRESENTED THE CRACK IN THE SUSPECTED AREA.
AFT RING FRAME OF TAIL BOOM CORRODED AT 3 O CLOCK POSITION & - 45 MM'S. FOUND LARGEST PIT TO BE .18MM DEEP. AHI TO PROVIDE RDAS/8110 FOR REMOVING CORROSION, TREAT METAL, RE-APPLY PRIMER & APPLY CORROSION PREVENTATIVE. IN ADDITION TO ACCOMPLISHMENT OF SB EC135-53-026, RECOMMEND THE MANUFACTURE USE A 2 PART EPOXY PRIMER ON THE RING FRAMES TO FURTHER HELP PREVENT CORROSION. THE APPROVED REPAIR FROM AHI HAS BEEN RECEIVED AS OF 5/28/2014 & IS CURRENTLY IN WORK. THIS ACFT REMAINS OUT OF SERVICE AT THE TIME OF THIS SUBMISSION.
WITH THE RELEASE OF EASB EC135-53A-022, A VISUAL INSPECTION REVEALED A CRACK IN THE TAILBOOM TO FENESTRON JUNCTION RING FRAME AFT. THIS EASB HAS NOW ALSO BEEN A SUBJECT OF AN EMERGENCY AD 2008-22-51.
