DURING CRUISE FLIGHT THE TRANSMISSION OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WENT TO ZERO. TRANSMISSION OIL TEMPERATURE REMAINED WITHIN THE NORMAL RANGE AND NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WAS PERFORMED. DISCONNECTED AND CLEANED CONNECTORS AT INSTRUMENT AND TRANSMITTER. REMOVED AND REPLACED TRANSMISSION OIL TRANSMITTER
THE CREW ADVISED THE PILOT OF A STRONG FUEL ODOR IN THE REAR CABIN OF THE AIRCRAFT, NARROWING THE LOCATION DOWN TO THE SMELL COMING FROM THE BLOWER VENTS. THE FUEL ODOR THEN MOVED INTO THE COCKPIT AREA. THE PILOT TURNED OFF THE AIRCRAFT AC/BLOWER SYSTEM, ADVISED CREW TO OPEN ALL WINDOWS AND ADVISED AIRCOM THE AIRCRAFT WOULD BE MAKING A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING AT CASTROVILLE AIRPORT. MAINTENANCE CONCLUSION WAS THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS OVER SERVICED DURING FUELING OPERATIONS AND LEAKED DOWN THE AIRCRAFT TO THE BELLY WHERE IT WAS INGESTED INTO THE A/C SYSTEM, OR THE FUEL CAP WASN'T PROPERLY SECURED AND LEAKED OUT DURING OPERATIONS.
AFTER LANDING & HOT OFF LOAD PILOT WAS REPOSITIONING ACFT ON HELIPAD. DURING HOVER ENG CHIP LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ON CALL MECHANIC RESPONDED & FOUND METAL DEBRIS & SHAVINGS OUT OF LIMITS IAW 250-C47B MM.
DURING DAILY INSPECTION, FOUND TAIL SKID STRINGER, EXCESSIVELY LOOSE. FOUND CRACK AT BASE OF STRINGER AROUND MOUNTING HOLE.
AFTER REACHING CRUISING ALITITUDE ENROUTE. NOTICED AN UNUSUALLY STRONG ODOR OF FUEL IN FLIGHT. PERFORMED A VISUAL INSPECTION OF ALL LINES AND AREAS AROUND THE ACFT AND FOUND NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. TOOK OFF AGAIN AND THE ODOR WAS GONE AND PROCEDED ON MISSION. FLEW THE REST OF THE DAY WITHOUT ANY OTHER FURTHER OCCURANCE.
