TPA FLT 1945 EN ROUTE CLT TO RSW. OVER THE VICINITY OF GNV, THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE N1 SPEED DROPPED TO 50 PERCENT. A PASSENGER REPORTED TO HAVE SEEN FIRE AND SMOKE COME FROM THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE. THE FLIGHT DIVERTED TO TPA, AND DURING DESCENT, REGAINED POWER IN THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE. THE FLIGHT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
ABQ FLT 1596 EN ROUTE. WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT, THE NR 1 ENGINE BEGAN TO LOOSE OIL PRESSURE. THE CREW SHUTDOWN THE NR 1 ENGINE AND THE FLIGHT DIVERTED. THE FLIGHT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THERE WAS 20 MINUTES OF SINGLE ENGINE TIME. MAINTENANCE REPLACED THE TRANSFER GEARBOX ADAPTER SEAL. ENGINE OPERATIONALLY AND LEAK CHECKS OK. (K)
