PERFORMED POWER SUPPLY BATTERY PACK CAPACITY CHECK IAW AMM 33-51-06-200-801 AND THE BATTERIES HAVE BEEN RE-CHARGED FOR 90 MINUTES. DURING RETEST, IT WAS VERIFIED BATTERIES OF DOORS 1L AND 4L ILUMINATES AND SUDDENLY GOING OFF LESS THAN 2 MINUTES. PERFORMED POWER SUPPLY BATTERY PACK CAPACITY CHECK IIAW AMM 33-51-06-200-801 AND THE BATTERIES HAVE BEEN RE-CHARGED FOR 90 MINUTES. DURING RETEST, IT WAS VERIFIED BATTERIES OF DOORS 1L AND 4L ILUMINATES AND SUDDENLY GOING OFF LESS THAN 2 MINUTES. IT WAS PERFORMED THE TROUBLESHOOTING IN REF WDM: 33-51-34-1 AND 33-51-61-4 AND WERE FOUND THE BATTERY PACKS M33424, M33093 AND M33407 DO NOT KEEPING THE CHAGER. THE BATTERY PACKS M33424 AND M33093 WAS REPLACED IN REF AMM: 33-51-06-960-802. AWAITING ADD EMP:U411929 REPLACEMENT OF M33407. THE BATTERY PACK OF M33407 WAS REPLACED IN REF AMM: 33-51-06-960-802. SYSTEM OKAY.

EVIDENCE OF METAL CONTAMINATION FOUND ON NR 1 ENG. METAL ON THE FORWARD MAGNETIC CHIP DETECTOR (MCD. ENGINE REMOVED PRIOR TO FURTHER FLIGHT. TEARDOWN FOUND THAT THE NR 2 BEARING HAD 3 BALLS WITH SPALLATION APPROXIMATELY 1/4-INCH TO 1/2-INCH IN SIZE. THE OUTER RACE ALSO HAD EXTENSIVE PITTING WHERE LIBERATED SPALL MATERIAL HAD GOTTEN BETWEEN THE BALLS AND THE RACE. THERE WAS NO COLLATERAL DAMAGE TO ANY OTHER NEARBY PARTS.

ONE DENT IS 3.0 INCHES LONG AND 2.75 INCHES WIDE AND 0.028 INCHES DEEP LOCATED 0.5 INCHES AFT OF STA 655 IS DIRECTLY OVER 3 BUTT JOINT FASTENERS, 3 ROWS ABOVE S-27L. OTHER DENT IS IN BAY 6 INCHES AFT OF STA 655 AND 3 INCHES BELOW S-26L, MEASURES 3.0 INCHES LONG BY 2.0 INCHES WIDE BY 0.040 INCHES DEEP. DAMAGE WAS TRIMMED OUT AND EXTERNAL DOUBLERS INSTALLED AS CATEGORY 'B' REPAIR PER EVA ORD-6136 A.
LIGHTNING STRIKE ON FWD RADOME AND F/O WINDSHIELD WITH STATIC DISCHARGE. POSSIBLE RADIOS/NAVIGATION INTERMITTENT. ON APPROACH TO ICN, CREW REPORTED THE AUTOPILOT DISCONNECTED, IT WAS RESET BY CREW AND TRIPPED AGAIN. THERE WERE ALSO ABNORMAL ILS INDICATIONS. SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE REPORTED IN THE AREA. ACFT DIVERTED TO CJU. GROUND MAINTENANCE AT ICN & CJU COMPLETED AN OPERATIONAL CHECK OF ILS SYSTEM WITHOUT ANY ABNORMAL FINDINGS. THERE WAS NO REPLACEMENT OF PARTS AND BOTH ILS AND AUTOPILOT SYSTEMS OPERATIONAL CHECKED NORMAL. AS OF 4/13/2004, NO ABNORMAL AUTOPILOT OR ILS PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN REPORTED SINCE ABOVE EVENT.
LT WING AFT FLAP TRAILING EDGE HAS 6 INCH SPANWISE BY 4 INCH CHORDWISE DELAMINATION 4 FT INBD FROM OTBD EDGE OF FLAP. THE ABOVE NOTED DELAM CONDITION WAS DISCOVERED WITH RELATIVELY LOW FLIGHT-HOURS AND FLIGHT-CYCLES. THE DELAM WAS DUE TO AERODYNAMIC LOADING DURING FLIGHT, ESPECIALLY DURING LANDING WHEN THE FLAP IS POSITIONED MORE DIRECTLY INTO THE AIRSTREAM, AND THUS IS SUBJECT TO MORE AIRLOADS. THE DELAMINATION WAS REPAIRED.
LEFT IDG AND BACKUP GENERATOR IS OFF OR HAS FAILED. RETURNED TO SEA. TWO EVENTS HAPPENED DURING FLIGHT. THE LEFT BACKUP GENERATOR SHEARED SHAFT MAINTENANCE MESSAGE THEN FOLLOWED BY SEVERAL LEFT INTEGRATED DRIVE GENERATOR (IDG) MAINTENANCE MESSAGES. THE LEFT IDG WAS MANUALLY DISCONNECTED. BOTH THE LEFT IDG AND BACKUP GENERATOR WERE REPLACED. REQUESTED BOEING AND HAMILTON SUNDSTRAND TO FOLLOW UP ON THIS OCCURRENCE WITH FINDING REPORTS OF BOTH UNITS.
