PILOT REPORTED SMOKE SMELL IN COCKPIT. TURNED HEATER OFF AND SMELL STOPPED. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED AND AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING DETERMINED THE HEATER ASSEMBLY WAS TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED HEATER WITH NO FURTHER DEFECTS NOTED.
PILOT REPORTED NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED ON LANDING. INITIAL INSPECTION AND TESTING INDICATES A FAULTY ACTUATOR SWITCH FALSELY INDICATED GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED.
DURING TROUBLESHOOTING OF PILOT DISCREPANCY OF THE MLG SLOW TO RETRACT, IT WAS DISCOVERED AN INTERNAL BAFFLE OR STAND PIPE WITHIN THE MAIN HYD RESERVOIR HAD DISLODGED AND WAS BLOCKING FLOW. R & R THE HYD RESERVOIR WITH NO FURTHER DEFECTS NOTED.
BITTER FUME LIKE SMELL IN CABIN. INSPECTED ELEC WIRING & FOUND NO DEFECTS. SMELL WAS DETERMINED TO BE COMING FROM THE LT ALTERNATOR. R & R THE LT ALTERNATOR & RETURNED THE ACFT TO SERVICE WITH NO FURTHER DEFECT NOTED.
AT SCHEDULED INSPECTION, NLG DRAG BRACE, PN 5142002-5 WAS FOUND TO BE CRACKED IN THE AREA OF NLG ACTUATOR ATTACH POINT. METHOD OF INSPECTION WAS DYE PENETRANT. THIS CRACK WAS FOUND TO BE BEYOND LIMIT ALLOWABLE OF MEB91-11R1. THIS UNIT HAS BEEN SCRAPPED & A REPLACEMENT DRAG BRACE HAS BEEN INSTALLED IN ACFT.
AT SCHEDULED INSPECTION, NLG DRAG BRACE, PN 5142002-5, WAS FOUND TO BE CRACKED IN THE AREA OF NLG ACTUATOR ATTACH POINT. METHOD OF INSPECTION WAS DYE PENETRANT. THIS CRACK WAS FOUND TO BE BEYOND LIMIT ALLOWABLE OF MEB91-11R1. THIS UNIT HAS BEEN SCRAPPED & A REPLACEMENT DRAG BRACE HAS BEEN INSTALLED IN ACFT.
NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED ON LANDING. NLG ACTUATOR WAS REMOVED AND TESTED IN A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT. WHEN THE ACTUATOR WAS COLD SOAKED, THE SWITCH FAILED TO ACTIVATE PROPERLY GIVING A FALSE INDICATION THAT THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. DUE TO THE GEAR FAILURE, BOTH ACFT PROPELLERS STRUCK THE GROUND AND CAUSED SUDDEN STOPPAGE TO THE ENGINES. THE ACFT ALSO SUFFERED STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE NOSE SECTION OF THE ACFT.
AT SCHEDULED INSPECTION, NLG DRAG BRACE, OEM PN 5142002-5, WAS FOUND TO BE CRACKED IN THE AREA OF NLG ACTUATOR ATTACH POINT. METHOD OF INSPECTION WAS DYE PENETRANT. THIS CRACK WAS FOUND TO BE WITHIN ALLOWABLE LIMIT. THIS UNIT HAS BEEN REPAIRED IAW PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN MEB941-11R1 & RETURNED TO SERVICE.
AT SCHEDULED INSPECTION, NLG DRAG BRACE OEM PN 5142002-5 WAS FOUND TO BE CRACKED IN THE AREA OF NLG ACTUATOR ATTACH POINT. METHOD OF INSPECTION WAS DYE PENETRANT. THIS CRACK WAS FOUND TO BE WITHIN ALLOWABLE LIMIT. THIS UNIT HAS BEEN REPAIRED IAW PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN MEB941-11R1 & RETURNED TO SERVICE.
DURING FIGHT, PILOT REPORTED SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT AND RETURNED TO AIRPORT FOR AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING. THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT WAS DISPATCHED. POSSIBLE CAUSE WAS HYDRAULIC MANIFOLD SOLENOID STUCK AND CAUSED SYSTEM TO OVERHEAT CAUSING A PIN HOLE IN THE HYDRAULIC SIGHT GAUGE. THIS CAUSED THE HYDRAULIC FLUID TO ESCAPE AS A MIST.
