FOUR MINUTES AFTER TAKEOFF WHILE CLIMBING TO CRUISE ALTITUDE, ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE INDICATED 109C AND INCREASING (MAX 107C). HELICOPTER LANDED 2 MINUTES LATER AND ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE HAD REACHED 133C. REMOVED AND REPLACED ENGINE IAW BH 407GX MM 407-A-71-73-01-01A-720A-A OPERATIONAL TEST COMPLETED. NO DEFECTS NOTED.
TAIL ROTOR GEARBOX CHIP LIGHT INDICATION IN FLIGHT. PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WAS PERFORMED AS PER THE RFM. THE MECHANIC ARRIVED TO INSPECT THE AIRCRAFT AND FOUND ONE HAIR-LIKE PARTICLE ON CHIP DETECTOR. CLEANED AND REINSTALLED DETECTOR. A TEN MINUTE GROUND RUN WAS PERFORMED AS A PRECAUTION WITH NO FURTHER DEFECTS FOUND.
MAIN ROTOR MAST NUT FOUND SEIZED TO MAST. ULTIMATELY REQUIRED APPROX. 2000 FT-LBS TORQUE TO REMOVE.
