WHILE REPOSITIONING ACFT FROM GRIFFIN MX FACILITY BACK TO JASPER, NOTICED A BURNING ODOR IN THE COCKPIT. MADE TURNS TO BOTH SIDE FOR CREWMEMBERS TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY SMOKE. KCNI WAS NEAR BY AS CREW MADE THE DECISION TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING THERE. MECHANIC WAS CALLED AND INSPECTED THE ACFT, CONDUCTED A RUN UP AND NO ODORS WERE PRESENT. ACFT WAS RELEASED AND FLEW BACK TO BASE. MECHANIC COULD SMELL BURNING IN THE AREA FROM PEOPLE BURNING TRASH. INSPECTED THE ACFT'S AVIONICS, LIGHTS, BELTS, AND BATTERY CONNECTION. PERFORMED AIRWORTHINESS CHECK & GROUND RUN WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. APPROVED AIRCRAFT FOR RETURN TO SERVICE.

MECHANIC STATEMENT: COULD SMELL BURNING IN THE AREA FROM PEOPLE BURNING TRASH. INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT'S AVIONICS, LIGHTS, BELTS, AND BATTERY CONNECTION. PERFORMED AIRWORTHINESS CHECK AND GROUND RUN WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. APPROVED AIRCRAFT FOR RETURN TO SERVICE.
IN CRUISE FLIGHT, CRACKLING IN PILOT HEADSET, FOLLOWED BY UNUSUAL ODOR IN AC NOTED BY ALL THREE OCCUPANTS. MADE PRE-CAUTIONARY LANDING AT NEAREST AIRPORT (PDK)
IN ROUTE WITH PATIENT TO RECEIVING HOSPITAL, CRUISE FLIGHT. CREW NOTICED A STRONG ODOR OF WHAT SMELLED LIKE BURNING ELECTRONICS. I NOTICED THE AIR CONDITION COMPRESSOR WAS STILL INDICATING ON AND GOOD AIRFLOW FROM THE VENT. I PERFORMED A TURN TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT TO SEE IF WE WERE TRAILING ANY SMOKE AND NO SMOKE WAS VISIBLE. NO CAUTION LIGHTS ON. AS THE SMELL INTENSIFIED, I DECIDED TO DIVERT TO AN AIRFIELD APPROX 2 MILES AWAY AND NOTIFIED AIRCOM. AS WE APPROACHED THE AIRPORT, I OBSERVED SMOKE RISING BETWEEN ME AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I MADE A CALL ON CTAF OF MY INTENTIONS TO LAND AND THEN TURNED OFF ALL AVIONICS AND OPENED MY WINDOW. ON SHORT FINAL THE SMOKE AND SMELL SEEMED TO DISAPPATE. MADE A NORMAL APPROACH AND LANDING TO THE RAMP. NORMAL SHUT DOWN AS WELL. MADE ALL THE CALLS AND WROTE UP THE DISCREPANCY. MAINTENANCE DETERMINED IT WAS A SEIZED AC COMPRESSOR WHICH BURNED AND BROKE THE DRIVE BELT. AIRCRAFT PLACED ON MEL AND MAINTENANCE FLIGHT COMPLETED WITH NO ISSUES. RTB.
30A PANEL PCB SMOKED IN FLIGHT WHILE RETURNING TO BASE. AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY BUT SMOKE WAS SMELLED AND SEEN IN COCKPIT, STROBE SWITCH WAS FOUND MELTED TO BOARD. PANEL HAS BEEN REPLACED AND STROBE SYSTEM IS MEL'D, PLACARD IS INSTALLED AND BREAKER IS PULLED. ALL OTHER SYSTEMS CHECKED AND FUNCTION NORMALLY.
FOUND A CRACK ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TAILBOOM AT THE AFT. LOWER CORNER OF THE STABLIZER CUT OUT.
CRACK FOUND, DURING 600 HR AIRFRAME INSPECTION, ON THE TAIL BOOM INNER SKIN AT THE AFT, LOWER CORNER OF THE RT SIDE STABILIZER OPENING, X-8610.0, Y-150.0, Z- 1847.13.
2 INCH CRACK FOUND ON TAIL BOOM, BATTERY DOOR FRAME, UPPER RT CORNER. BATTERY TRAY WAS REPLACED ON 021914 BY QUALIFIED SHEET METAL TECHNICIAN FROM AMC DENVER.
