30 MINUTES BEFORE LANDING, DETECTED AN ELECTRICAL BURNING ODOR THROUGHT ENTIRE CABIN. TURNED OFF PC POWER SYS IMMEDIATELY AND ODOR SLOWLY WENT AWAY. F/A COULD NOT PINPOINT WHERE THE ODOR WAS COMING FROM. AFTER TURNING PC POWER OFF, GEN 1, 3, 2, AND 4 LOADS WERE 65, 75, 95, AND 90 RESPECTIVELY. ACFT LANDED SAFETLY. MX PERFORMED TROUBLESHOOTING IAW FIM 21-20-00-810-801-A, BLOCK 1-6, 8-10, NO FAULTS FOUND. MX PERFORMED OPS TEST OF PASSENGER PC POWER STATIC INVERTER COOLING FAN IAW AMM 24-20-03-700-802-A. OPS CHECKED GOOD, NO DEFECTS NOTED. COULD NOT DUPLICATE.

ON DESCENT AT 14,000FT, HYD 2 QTY LOW MESSAGE APPEARED, THEN FOLLOWED SHORTLY BY ENG 2 HYD PUMP FAIL MESSAGE. THE CREW DIVERTED DUE TO RUNWAY REQUIREMENT AND LANDED SAFELY. DURING VISUAL INSPECTION, PN 145-31063-409 HOSE FROM NR 2 ENGINE DRIVEN HYDRAULIC PUMP WAS FOUND TO BE WORN THROUGH DUE TO CHAFING. REPLACED THE HOSE WITH INTERCHANGEABLE, PN A9140-409. OPS CHECK AND LEAK CHECK GOOD.

AFTER ALL PASSENGERS DEPLANED, FIRE DEPARTMENT BOARD TO INVESTIGATE LAV "NO INDICATION OF SMOKE OR FUMES". ACFT WAS TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR MX EVALUATION. RESIDUAL ENG CLEANER IN BLEED AIR SYS & ASSOCIATED COMPONENTS. MX CONDUCTED ENG CORE WASHES DURING WEEKEND.

WIRE NR W101-0072-20 WAS FOUND BURNED IN HALF DURING INSPECTION AND TROUBLE SHOOTING TO CORRECT AN MEL ON THE BACK LIGHTING ON THE PILOTS SIDE ELECTRONIC CLOCK. DURING INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE SYSTEM DESIGN USED 20 GAUGE WIRE AT THE OUTPUT OF THE DC LAMP DIMMER THAT HAS AN INTERNAL CIRCUIT PROTECTION THAT TRIPS AT 16.75 AMPS WHICH EXCEEDS THE RATING FOR 20 GAUGE WIRE. RECOMMEND REEVALUATION OF SYSTEM DESIGN AND PROTECTION OF WIRING ON OUTPUT SIDE OF DC LAMP DIMMER.
