DURING 600-HOUR INSPECTION, CHAFE DAMAGE WAS DISCOVERED AT THE CENTER OF THE LH AND RH X-FRAME. THE MAX DEPTH OF DAMAGE ON THE LH SIDE IS 0.018â WITH AN AREA OF 0.040â BY 0.035â THE MAX DEPTH OF DAMAGE ON THE RH SIDE IS 0.013â WITH AN AREA OF 0.020â BY 0.010â. THE DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED BY ADDING REPAIR DOUBLERS IAW AIR METHODS ENGINEERING AUTHORIZATION # 17-5300-EA-5371 REV. - DATE 15 DECEMBER 2025.
DAMAGE TO THE LH EDGE FRAME (PN: 350A21-4913-22) AND RH EDGE FRAME (PN: 350A21-4915-22), IN THE FORM OF CORROSION AND DENTS, WAS IDENTIFIED ACROSS THE ENTIRE LENGTHS OF THE OUTBOARD FACES OF THE FRAMES. BOTH LH AND RH EDGE FRAMES REQUIRED FULL REPLACEMENT. THEREFORE, CUTS OR SPLICING DOUBLERS WERE NOT REQUIRED. A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE APPROVED REPAIR/INSTALLATION PROCEDURES IS PROVIDED IN AIRBUS REPAIR DESIGN APPROVAL SHEET RDAS-EC130-53-2024-0040, ISSUE A DATED 09 JAN 2024, AND AC 43.13-1B CHAPTER 4, SECTION 4, PARAGRAPH 4-57 CHANGE 1 DATED 9/8/98.
DURING 600 HOUR INSPECTION, A CRACK APPROXIMATELY 0.9â LONG WAS DISCOVERED DURING ROUTINE INSPECTION ON THE TAIL BOOM STRINGER JUST BELOW THE BATTERY DOOR FRAME. THE LOCATION OF THIS DAMAGE IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY AT F.S. 7,272MM, W.L. 2,110MM, AND B.L.-160. A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE TYPICAL DAMAGE AND APPROVED REPAIR PROCEDURES ARE PROVIDED IN AIRBUS REPAIR DESIGN APPROVAL RDAS-EC130-53-2025-3953 A ISSUE A DATED 03 DEC 2025.
PILOT DISCREPANCY: BURNING SMELL IN COCKPIT. MECHANIC FINDINGS: FOUND STROBE LT PUSHBUTTON LIGHT REMAINING ON IN BOTH ON AND OFF POSITIONS IN 30 ALPHA PANEL, ALSO NOTICED BELLY STROBE LIGHT NOT FLASHING CONSISTENTLY. REMOVED COVER FROM 30 ALPHA PANEL AND FUMES WERE IMMEDIATELY EVIDENT. REMOVED STROBE LT PUSHBUTTON TO INSPECT AND IT WAS EVIDENT THAT THE ELECTRICAL FUMES WERE COMING FROM THIS PUSH BUTTON (PN: 6082) INSPECTED FOR OTHER SIGNS OF DAMAGE AND NONE WERE FOUND, INSTALLED SERVICEABLE STROBE LT PUSH BUTTON PN: 6082 AND CHECKED OPERATION WITH NO FURTHER DISCREPANCIES NOTED.
CREW REPORTED BURNING SMELL IN THE CABIN AREA DURING CRUISE FLIGHT. MECHANIC FOUND INVERTER INOPERATIVE.
CREW REPORTED "SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC IN CABIN" AND RETURNED TO BASE. MECHANIC FOUND FAULTY GFCI OUTLET (LH MED WALL) READING ABNORMAL VOLTAGE BETWEEN UPPER AND LOWER RECEPTACLE SUSPECTING SHORT IN GFCI ITSELF. REMOVED AND REPLACED IAW REF. SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS COMPLETED SATISFACTORY.
DURING FLIGHT AND RETURN TO BASE FROM FLIGHT, CREW NOTIFIED PILOT THAT THEY SMELLED A ELECTRICAL BURNING AROUND THE BACK CABIN WALL. IT WAS DARK INSIDE THE CABIN SO VISUAL IDENTIFICATION WAS DIFFICULT. PILOT AND CREW INSPECTED THE AREA BUT COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE VAPOR.
ENG FIRE LIGHT ILLUMINATED DURING FLIGHT WHEN NO FIRE WAS PRESENT. SUSPECT MOISTURE IN A CONNECTOR.
DURING INSPECTION, FOUND THE BATTERY SHELF CRACKED AFT OF TB FRAME 2285.8 STARTING AT 4 INCHES AND IS APPROXIMATELY 1.75 INCHES LONG, ANOTHER CRACK 3 INCHES AFT OF THAT, APPX 4.5 INCHES LONG WITH MULTIPLE CRACKS AND MISSING MATERIAL.
PRIOR TO TAKEOFF, PILOT FELT EXTREME FORCE IN COLLECTIVE WITH NO ASSOCIATED WARNING OR CAUTION LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. PILOT CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE COLLECTIVE LOCK WAS RELEASED AND THAT THE COLLECTIVE FRICTION WAS SET TO THE MINIMUM SETTING, BUT THE EXTREME FORCE REMAINED. PILOT ABORTED TAKEOFF, REMOVED AIRCRAFT FROM SERVICE AND CALLED THE BASE MECHANIC. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING, THE MECHANIC FOUND THE COLLECTIVE FRICTION WAS OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. MECHANIC ADJUSTED AND RESET THE COLLECTIVE FRICTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH AMC MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE
CREW REPORTED SMOKE COMING FROM DEMISTER SYSTEM WHEN ACTIVATED. AIRCRAFT RAN UP AND VERIFIED ON GROUND. NO SMOKE COMING FROM HEATER SYSTEM WHICH IS IN PARALLEL TO DEMISTER VALVE. INSPECTED SLEEVE ASSEMBLY FOR DEMISTER AND FOUND HOSES TO BE DETERIORATED. REPLACED SLEEVE ASSEMBLY WITH NEW AND AIRCRAFT RAN UP. FURTHER MIST IN CABIN RELATED TO INSULATION PARTICLES FROM DETERIORATED HOSES. OPERATIONAL CHECK FLIGHT OF AIRCRAFT FOR 17 MINUTES AND MIST DISSIPATED WITH MINUTE PARTICLES OF INSULATION BLOWING FROM DIFFUSERS. NO FURTHER OCCURRENCE OF ISSUE REPORTED. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.
