REPLACED NR 2 AIR DATA COMPUTER WITH AN O/H UNIT, DISPLAY INDICATIONS NORMAL. RECOMMEND MFG SERVICE FACILITY INVESTIGATE AT TEAR-DOWN TO DETERMINE IF INTERNAL COMPONENT FAILURE OR WATER CONTAMINATION. SB 34-3972, MODIFICATION OF NR 2 AIR DATA COMPUTER PLUMBING, WAS PREVIOUSLY COMPLIED WITH.
INVESTIGATED REPORT OF FLIGHT MANAGEMENT SYS LOSING LAST SAVED POSITION, THEN GOING TO NORTH ZERO DEGREES AND EAST ZERO DEGREES. REPLACED NR 1 FMC-3000 FLIGHT MANAGEMENT COMPUTER CARD WITH AN O/H REPLACEMENT CARD AND RELOADED DATABASE. FMS OPS NORMAL. RECOMMEND MFG SERVICE FACILITY INVESTIGATE AT TEAR-DOWN TO DETERMINE IF CAUSED BY FAILED INTERNAL COMPONENT OR IF CAUSED BY WATER CONTAMINATION.
DURING SCHEDULED INSP, FOUND LT ENG COMPARTMENT FUEL HOSE ASSY CHAFED PAST SERVICE LIMITS FROM CONTACT WITH ADJACENT COWLING STRUCTURE. REPLACED HOSE ASSY WITH NEW HOSE ASSY AND SECURED AS REQUIRED. 390 SERIES POWERPLANT INSTALLATIONS HAVE TIGHT CLEARANCES BETWEEN HOSES, WIRING, TUBING, ETC. AND ADJACENT STRUCTURES, TECH SHOULD PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE MM 71-00-00-201 INSP REQUIREMENTS WHENEVER LINES, TUBING, ETC. ARE DISTURBED. CLEARANCE INSP REQUIRED EACH 200 HR AIRFRAME INSP OR ENG INSTALLATION, SHOULD BE CLOSELY ADHERED TO.
DURING WHEEL DISASSEMBLY FOR TIRE REPLACEMENT FOUND WHEEL TIE BOLT CHAMFERED WASHERS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, WITH CHAMFERED SIDES TOWARDS WHEEL HALF. NOTED WASHERS TO BE BENT, WHEEL TIE BOLT HEADS UNDERSIDE RADIUSES DAMAGED. SUSPECT TECHNICIAN ASSEMBLING WHEELS AT PREVIOUS TIRE CHANGE AT ANOTHER FACILITY DID NTO FULLY FOLLOW COMPONENT MM AND WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH INSTALLATION OF MS20002 SERIES CHAMFERED WASHERS. (K)
