THE MECHANIC WAS COMPLYING WITH THE ZONE 3 TRANSMISSION INSPECTION WHEN HE FOUND A CRACK. THE CRACK WAS EMANATING FROM THE FORWARD RIGHT HAND PYLON BEAM ATTACHMENT POINT. IT WAS FOUND BECAUSE OF BLACK OIL AROUND THE AREA. HE CLEANED THE AREA AND COMPLETED A DYE PENETRANT INSPECTION TO VERIFY THE CRACK. THE CRACK LENGTH IS1.55", LOCATED .7" FWD AND OUTBOARD OF FWD OUTBOARD PYLON FASTENER
ENGINE REMOVED FOR REPAIR FOR A TURBINE OVERHAUL, THE TURBINE NR 5 BEARING WAS FOUND SPALLING ON OUTER RACE SPLIT. INSTALLED A NEW NR 5 BEARING
AIRCRAFT YAWED LEFT SUDDENLY FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY DECREASE IN ENGINE NOISE, LOSS IN ALTITUDE, ACTIVATION OF LOW RPM AUDIO AND FADEC FAIL AUDIO. CAUTION LIGHTS THAT ILLUMINATED WERE FADEC FAIL, FADEC DEGRADED, RESTART FAULT, AUTO RELIGHT AND RPM, FADEC MODE SELECT TO MANUAL CONTROL. REMOVED HMU AND SENT TO REPAIR STATION FOR BENCH CHECK AS RECEIVED. NOTE: PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED ON 2/6/09.

TROUBLESHOT AND FOUND BROKEN FOIL ON BOARD. REPAIRED BROKEN FOIL, REPAIRED, INSTALLED MOD 2 KIT P/N050-2780-00 AND APPLIED HUMISEAL TO P305 HEADER. BENCH CHECK GOOD.

INSTRUMENT LIGHTS ON 1/2 WORK. FOUND 4 BURNT LAMPS. PERFORMED PRELIMINARY INSPECTION. REPLACED 4 EACH LAMPS. PERFORMED COMPLETE CALIBRATION AND ALIGNMENT. BENCH CHECK GOOD.
WILL NOT TRANSMIT. FOUND UNIT TO HAVE INTERMITTENT TRANSMIT POWER AND WEAK RECEIVER SENSITIVITY. ADJUSTED PRESELECTOR TUNING VOLTAGE AND ALIGNED RECEIVER, REPAIRED RECEIVER SENSE PROBLEM. UNIT HAS INTERMITTENT TRANSMIT PROBLEM FROM 138-140MHZ, REPLACED VCO MODULE ,REPAIRED. BENCH CHECK GOOD.

DOES NOT RETAIN USER WAYPOINT MEMORY.
GYRO TUMBLES WHILE CAGING, FLAG PULL IS SLOW, CAUSES PITCH/ROLL CSAS TO BE UNRELIABLE.
CANNOT CHANGE FREQUENCIES. REPLACED BAD TRANSFER SWITCH S102. REPAIRED. REPLACED WEAK DISPLAY DS101 AND FADED LENS. REPLACED HEADER P201 AND APPLIED HUMISEAL TO HEADER FOR CORROSION CONTROL. BENCH CHECK GOOD.
BOTH VHF'S GARBLED AND BLEED OVER (VHF1 TO VHF2) REPLACED C309 P/N 10-36-227, BENCH TEST GOOD WITH NAT TS-AA TEST PANEL.
