THE MECHANIC WAS COMPLYING WITH THE ZONE 3 TRANSMISSION INSPECTION WHEN HE FOUND THE CRACK. IT WAS FOUND BECAUSE OF BLACK OIL AROUND THE AREA. HE CLEANED THE AREA AND COMPLETED A DYE PENETRANT INSPECTION TO VERIFY THE CRACK. THE CRACK LENGTH IS 2", LOCATED AT THE RH FORWARD TRANSMISSION PYLON BEAM.
ENGINE REMOVED 6-18-17 DUE TO LOW POWER. THE NR 5 BEARING EXHIBITED SPALLING ON OUTER RACE AT SPLIT. INSTALLED UPGRADED NR 5 BEARING.
LEFT ENGINE PAN SKIN WAS FOUND TO BE CRACKED AT AN OEM NUTPLATE INSTALLATION, USED TO SECURE A SCUPPER DRAIN. REPAIRED.
ENGINE REMOVED 9-4-15, DUE TO TURBINE O/H. NR 5 BEARING EXHIBITS PROBABLE SPALLING AT OUTER RACE SPLIT. INSTALLED NEW NR 5 BEARING.

UPON REMOVAL OF OUTLET FITTING P/N AN837-12D FROM ENGINE OIL TANK FOR THE FIRST TIME, FOUND THREADS IN TANK WERE STRIPPED.

WHILE COMPLYING WITH AD 97-24-17, DISCOVERED DISC PACK COUPLING DIRECTLY BEHIND OIL COOLER HAD A CRACKED DISC.
FOUND CRACKED T/R DRIVE SHAFT DISC PACK COUPLING.
LT FLOAT BAG LEAKING.
DISK COUPLING HAS A CRACKED DISC.
STARTER TURNS SLOWLY AND CHATTERS. OVERHAULED BY ACCESSORY OVERHAUL SHOP DUE TO ALL FOUR BOTTOM BRUSH LEADS SEPARATING FROM BRUSHES, BRUSHES BURNT AND COMMUTATOR WAS SEVERELY PITTED.
STARTER TURNED SLOWLY AND CHATTERED. INSPECTED BY ACCESSORY OVERHAUL SHOP AND FOUND ALL FOUR BOTTOM BRUSHES BROKEN AND LEADS SEPARATED FROM BRUSHES AND COMMUTATOR WAS EXCESSIVELY PITTED. OVERHAULED STARTER GENERATOR AND RETURNED TO SERVICE.
GPS RECEIVER CONTINUES TO READ "ANTENNA FAULT" AFTER BAD ANTENNA WAS REPLACED.
NOT ALL DISPLAY NUMBERS ARE VISIBLE. REPLACED INTEGRATED CIRCUITS I505 AND I506. REPAIRED. FOUND AUDIBLE TONE WHEN CHECKING MODULATION PERCENTAGE WITHOUT KEYING TRANSMITTER. FOUND LEG OF TRANSISTOR Q119 TO JUST ABOUT BE BROKEN WHEN REMOVED FOR CHECKING. REPLACED TRANSISTOR Q119.REPAIRED. BENCH CHECK GOOD.
