SMELL OF ELECTRICAL BURNING IN FLIGHT AFT CABIN, NOTICED BY AIRCREW. INSPECTED AFT BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT, UPPER AVIONICS BAY INCLUDING WIRING AND RELAYS. GROUND RUNS AND OPS CHECK GOOD, NO DEFECTS NOTED. THIS AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN RETURNED TO REVENUE SERVICE. REF# MEC-000804
WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT RETURNING TO BASE FROM AN INTERFACILITY TRANSFER, BURNING/OVERHEATED ELECTRICAL INSULATION COULD BE SMELLED IN THE COCKPIT. AS SOON AS THE SMELL APPEARED IT WENT AWAY. CONTINUED TO BASE 10 MIN AWAY AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED AIRCRAFT ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED AND NO DISCREPANCY WAS FOUND. AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
IN ROUTE TO MEDICAL, THE CREW SMELLED FUEL VAPORS IN CABIN & IDENTIFIED FUEL ON RT PAX DOOR WINDOW. THE PILOT MADE A NORMAL LANDING. THE MECHANIC RESPONDED & IDENTIFIED THAT THE FUEL CAP HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY SEATED WHEN INSTALLED. HE RESEATED THE GAS CAP & WIPED UP EXCESS FUEL OFF WINDOW & AIRFRAME. THE PILOT THEN PERFORMED A GND RUN & FLIGHT CHECK TO VERIFY THAT THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED. NO FURTHER FUEL LOSS WAS DETECTED & ACFT WAS RETURNED TO UNRESTRICTED SERVICE.
DURING REVENUE FLIGHT, PILOT EXPERIENCED GEN FAILURE LIGHT. AFTER VERIFYING SYS WAS INOPERATIVE BY CYCLING GEN SWITCH FROM ON TO OFF, TO ON & NO CHANGE. THEN CHECKED BATTERY LEVEL, ENOUGH VOLTAGE EXISTED TO MAKE THE LAST FEW MINUTES TO THE INTENDED LOCATION WITHOUT HAVING TO USE ALTERNATE, POSSIBLY LESS SAFE LOCATION. NORMAL LANDING WITH WEAK BATTERY & SOME COMMUNICATIONS & LIGHTS STARTING TO FAIL. ACFT WAS LANDED AT DESTINATION WITH NO ISSUES. PATIENT WAS UNLOADED AND MYSELF THE MECHANIC WAS NOTIFIED. ARRIVED & CHANGED THE GEN & STARTER & ACFT BATTERY. ACFT WAS RUN & SYS CHECK. ALL OPERATIONS NORMAL. ACFT WAS FOUND TO BE IN AN AIRWORTHY CONDITION & RETURNED TO REVENUE SERVICE.
DURING STARTUP, THE ACFT WAS BROUGHT TO IDLE IN PREPARATION FOR DEPARTURE. THE MEDICAL CREW SAW SMOKE EXITING THE EXHAUST. THE PILOT TURNED TO LOOK AT THE AFT END OF ACFT & LOOKED BACK AT GAUGES TO NOTICE THAT THE ENG INSTRUMENTS HAD AGREED WITH HIS VISUAL CONFIRMATION OF AN ENG SHUTDOWN. REMOVED, CLEANED, INSPECTED & REINSTALLED FUEL NOZZLES IAW TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE & PERFORMED FUEL BOOST PUMP OPERATION GND RUN FOR FUEL SYS AIR INTAKE ISSUES & FOUND NO DISCREPANCIES NOTED. ACFT FOUND TO BE IN AN AIRWORTHY CONDITION & RETURNED TO SERVICE.
