DURING CLIMB OUT MED CREW ADVISED THEY DETECTED AN ELECTRICAL ODOR COMING FROM THE OXYGEN QTY DISPLAY PANEL, NO VISIBLE SMOKE OR HEAT DETECTED FROM PANEL. PERFORMED INSPECTION OF WIRES ON BACK PANEL, MGB COMPARTMENT AND ENGINE. PERFORMED GROUND RUN, NO DEFECTS NOTED.
G500 AIRSPEED INDICATION WAS LAGGING BEHIND PERCEIVED AIRSPEED ON CLIMB OUT FROM AIRPORT REPOSITIONING TO BASE. ONCE AT TRAFFIC PATTERN ALTITUDE, BEGAN TO TRY AND DIAGNOSE WHAT THE G500 AIRSPEED INDICATION WAS SHOWING. IT MAXED OUT AT 50KIAS AT WHAT I PERCEIVED TO BE CRUISE AIRSPEED, CRUISE POWER, AND TRAFFIC PATTERN ALTITUDE. I SET UP THE GPS TO SHOW ALTITUDE AND GROUND SPEED, WAS INTO THE WIND AT THE TIME SHOWING 90 KTS GROUND SPEED AND AROUND 2000'MSL. WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM ANALOG INDICATION DUE TO DIVISION OF ATTENTION. TURNED AROUND AT HOSPITAL AND RETURNED TO THE HANGAR. ON FINAL APPROACH TO HANGAR, AIRSPEED SLOWED AND ALTITUDE DECREASED WITH DESCENT AND SLOWDOWN, HOWEVER IT SEEMED THAT THE AIRSPEED INDICATION DROPPED OFF SOONER THAN NORMAL.
AFTER TAKE OFF WITH AIR CONDITIONING FAN ON AND DEMIST 1 TURN OPEN COCKPIT HAD BURNING SMELL AND SMOKE HAZE. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO DEPARTURE LOCATION WITHOUT INCIDENT. INSPECTED HEAT AND DEMIST DIFFUSERS FOR DEBRIS WITH NONE FOUND. HEAT AND DEMIST VALVES OPERATE NORMAL WITH NO LEAKS UNDER BELLY. SUSPECT P2 AIR FLEX LINE FROM ENGINE. REMOVED AND REPLACED P2 LINE PN 704A34-402-308. RAN ENGINE WITH DEMIST AND HEAT ON WITH NO CONTINUATION OF SMOKE SMELL OR HAZE.
HAS AN ELONGATED HOLE ON THE RT SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION DECK THAT IS UTILIZED IN THE AFT AC EVAPORATOR PN EC130-6204-2 INSTALLATION DWG EC130-622 AS THE MOST INBOARD AFT HOLE UTILIZING AN AN3-4A BOLT. AT THE HOLES WIDEST POINT IT MEASURES AT .35 BY .26. THE HOLE IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY STA 3382, WL 1831, AND BL 515R.
CHAFES TO THE AFT FUSELAGE AFT FRAME (PN: 350A21-1242.20). THE CHAFES ARE FOUND ON THE FREE EDGES OF THE INBOARD STIFFENING FLANGES ON THE LH AND RH SIDES OF THE FRAME. THE LH SIDE CHAFES WERE MEASURED TO BE 7MM X 12MM (0.276â X 0.472â) AND 0.014â DEEP; AND THE OTHER CHAFE MEASURED TO BE 3MM X 3MM (0.118â X 0.118â) AND 0.010â DEEP. THE RH SIDE CHAFE MEASURED TO BE 0.40â LONG AND 0.010â DEEP
CRACK DAMAGE WAS NOTED ON THE 22 DEGREE BULKHEAD WEB
DURING A PREFLIGHT AIRWORTHINESS CHECK, FOUND CRACK IN THE UPPER AFT CORNER OF DOUBLER AROUND THE OPENING OF THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT IN THE TAILBOOM. CRACK MEASURED 1 3/8 INCHES IN LENGTH
CRACK FOUND ON THE NR 1 TAIL ROTOR DRIVE SHAFT BEARING MOUNT BRACKET, FOUND DURING A SHCEDULED MAINTENANCE BEARING CHANGE.
THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE & THE MEDICAL CREW WERE ON CLIMB OUT JUST FOLLOWING A REFUEL OF THE ACFT WHEN THEY EXPERIENCED AN ELEC SMELL COME THROUGH THE CABIN. THE PILOT IMMEDIATELY PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY LANDING INTO A VACANT PARKING LOT. THE MECHANIC DID A THOROUGH INSPECTION OF THE ACFT TO IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE SMELL ONLY TO FIND A BURNT OUT SEARCHLIGHT BULB. THIS LIGHT WAS DETERMINED TO BE OPERATIONAL AT THE PREFLIGHT INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC DEFERRED THE NIGHT SCANNER SYS & THE PILOT PERFORMED A GND RUN AT 100% NR WITH ALL MISSION RELATED SYS, FUNCTIONALLY CHECKED. NO ABNORMAL SMELLS OR DEFECTS WERE NOTED. THE PILOT & MECHANIC WENT ON A 50 MINUTE FLIGHT TO VERIFY THE ACFTS RELEASE BACK TO SERVICE. NO ABNORMAL SMELLS WERE NOTED. THIS ACFT HAS BEEN RELEASED BACK TO SERVICE.
