Maintenance disclosures
DURING DECENT INTO AIRPORT, FOR LANDING, ALL HYDRAULIC PRESSURE WAS LOST. INITIALLY FLAPS SELECTED TO 8 DEGREES WAS GOOD BUT WHEN 20 DEGREES FLAPS WERE SELECTED THEY STOPPED AT 10 DEGREES. HAD TO BLOW DOWN GEAR IN ORDER TO LAND WHICH ALSO ALLOWED FOR FLAP SELECTION AND BREAKING. LANDING WAS PERFORMED WITHOUT INCIDENT. INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE SUPPLY FLEX HOSE LEADING TO THE LEFT SPOILER ACTUATOR HAD A CHAFED AREA THAT WENT THROUGH THE BRAIDED WIRING THUS WEARING A HOLE IN THE RUBBER HOSE. THE DEFECTIVE HOSE WAS REPLACED USING STANDARD PRACTICES. BLEED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM IAW MAINTENANCE MANUAL 29-00-00 PAGE 213-214 PARA 5C. THIS INCLUDED RETRACTION OF THE GEAR, FLAPS AND SPOILERS, THROUGH SEVERAL CYCLES, AND THE BLEEDING OF THE BRAKES. RAN BOTH ENGINES TO CHECK THE HYDRAULIC PUMPS FOR PROPER OPERATION AND SYSTEMS CHECKS. ALL CHECKED GOOD.
WAS ON AN AIR AMBULANCE TRIP FROM ABQ TO LAS WHEN ON ROLL OUT THE CAPTAIN NOTICED THE NR 2 ENGINE N1 INDICATION WAS 4 PERCENT LOWER THAN THE NR 1 ENGINE INDICATION. THE CREW REPORTED THE SITUATION AND WERE INSTRUCTED TO CHANGE AIRCRAFT. ON THE MORNING OF THE 27TH THE AIRCRAFT WAS RUN UP FOR MAX POWER CHECK AND THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE FUEL COMPUTERS (DEECS) WERE DOWNLOADED ON THE 27TH AND THE INFO FORWARDED TO REPAIR STATION FOR EVALUATION. THE AIRCRAFT WILL BE CONSIDERED OUT OF SERVICE UNTIL CONTACTED BY REPAIR STATION.
ON 10/21/2006 ON AN AIR AMBULANCE TRIP, ON THE SECOND LEG, THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON THE GROUND FOR ABOUT 1.5 HRS WHILE TAXIING TO RUNWAY THE LT ENGINE SHUTDOWN FOR UNKNOWN REASON. THE CAPTAIN RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND CONTINUED THE TRIP WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS.
