Maintenance disclosures
ON APPROACH THE LG WAS SELECTED DOWN. THE MAIN GEAR INDICATED DOWN & LOCKED, BUT THE NOSE GEAR DID NOT INDICATE LOCKED. PERFORMED ALTERNATE EMER GEAR EXTENSION PROCEDURE & ALL GEAR INDICATED DOWN & LOCKED. LANDING WAS NORMAL. INSPECTED THE LG & PERFORMED FUNCTIONAL TEST, CYCLING THE GEAR 12 TIMES WITH NO FAILURES. COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE.
DURING OUR APPROACH THE LG FAILED TO EXTEND. AN IMMEDIATE GO AROUND WAS COMMENCED & AN EMER DECLARED WITH ATC. DURING A BRIEF DIVERSION THE CAPTAIN RAN VARIOUS CHECKLIST & WAS ABLE TO EXTEND THE GEAR. MX JACKED THE ACFT & OPERATED THE LG NUMEROUS TIMES & COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE DISCREPANCY. .
FLIGHT CREW NOTED "RUDDER BOOST FAILURE" INDICATION SHORTLY AFTER DEPARTURE FROM KRFD, RETURNED TO KRFD. TROUBLESHOOTING INDICATED FAILED R/H ENGINE #1 RUDDER BOOST PRESSURE TRANSDUCER MT106. REPLACED PRESSURE TRANSDUCER WITH NEW PRESSURE TRANSDUCER, RUDDER BOOST SYSTEM FUNCTIONAL CHECKS OK. RECOMMEND MANUFACTURER INVESTIGATE WHETHER AN INFREQUENT FAILURE OR EXCESSIVE FAIL RATE FLEET-WIDE PROBLEM. TRANSIENT AIRCRAFT, PART HISTORY NOT AVAILABLE.
