Maintenance disclosures
JUST PRIOR TO A POST MAINTENANCE ROC CHECK FLIGHT, THE ENGINE OIL TANK CAP AND OIL LEVEL WAS VERIFIED BEFORE FLIGHT. DURING THE FLIGHT, THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE PILOT RETURNED TO THE BASE/AIRPORT. UPON A POST INSPECTION, THERE WAS NO OIL FOUND IN ENGINE OIL TANK. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS NO OIL FOUND ON EITHER THE TRANSMMISSION OR ENGINE DECKS; JUST TRACES OF OIL WERE FOUND ON POWER TURBINE BLADES AND TAIL BOOM. **THIS AIRCRAFT REMAINS OUT OF SERVICE AT THIS TIME PENDING AN ENGINE CHANGE AS A RESULT OF SOME INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE ENGINE. **
FOUND SKIN BUCKLED AND DENTED JUST AFT OF TAIL BOOM JUNCTION FRAME.
A CRACK EMANATING FROM A RIVET WAS DISCOVERED IN FRAME X3035, ITEM 43, AS DEPICTED IN SRM 53-31-01, 02. THIS FRAME IS A RING JUST FWD OF THE FISH MOUTH IN THE TAIL BOOM, THE CRACK IS AT APPROX THE 10:00 O'CLOCK POSITION IF STANDING IN THE REAR LOOKING FWD.
UPON REMOVAL OF THE AIRFRAME VERTICAL FIN ASSY, THE UPPER VERTICAL FIN FWD ATTACH STEEL FITTING SEPARATED FROM THE UPPER VERTICAL FIN. INSP REVEALED THAT ALL RIVETS ATTACHING THE FITTING TO THE FIN WERE CORRODED BEYOND RETENTION. ALSO FOUND THE SHIN OF THE FIN WAS CRACKED APPROX 95 PERCENT FROM THE RT SIDE AROUND THE TOP TO THE LT SIDE, ENDING AT THE SECOND RIVET UP OF THE FWD RIVETS OF THE SKIN.
BEARING, BUSHINGS DETERIORATED AND WORN. REMOVED AND REPLACED.
TURN AND BANK INDICATOR, CORE RETURN-WARRANTY FAILURE - INSTRUMENT LIGHT INOPERATIVE.
TAIL ROTOR PITCH LINK, PARTS SUPPORT- ELASTOMER BEARING BUSHING AND SPERICALS, WORN. REMOVED AND REPLACED.

TURN AND BANK INDICATOR, RATE OF TURN NEEDLE IS ERRATIC. REMOVED AND REPLACED.
