CHAFING DAMAGE ON THE LT LONGITUDINAL BULKHEAD (X-FRAME) ON THE UPPER INBD FACE MEASURING APPROXIMATELY 0.017" IN DEPTH, 0.10" IN WIDTH, AND 0.210" IN LENGTH. THE DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED WITH A DOUBLER IAW AIR METHODS ENGINEERING AUTHORIZATION 33-5300-EA-5308.
DAMAGE TO THE RH Y398.5 BEAM (P/N: 350A211351.22) AND STOP DOUBLER (P/N: 350A211363.25) IN THE FORM OF A CHAFE. THE CHAFE DAMAGE IS NEAR THE FWD UPPER SIDE OF THE CUTOUT AND WAS MEASURED TO BE APPROXIMATELY 0.4" IN LENGTH AND 0.040" IN DEPTH.
CRACK DISCOVERED AT R/H UPPER FASTENER HOLE FOR AFT FUEL TANK SADDLE ON OUTBOARD SIDE.
CHAFING DAMAGE WAS DISCOVERED ON THE L/H SIDE TRANSMISSION DECK.
ON SEPTEMBER 24TH 2020, AT APPROXIMATELY 15:30, THE GENERATOR ON AIRCRAFT N629AM FAILED IN FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT LOST ELECTRICAL POWER AND THE RADIOS AND VEMD WENT OFFLINE. THE PILOT EXECUTED A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING AT AN OFF AIRPORT LOCATION. AFTER LANDING, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT SHUT DOWN SO THE EMERGENCY FUEL CUT-OFF HAD TO BE ACTUATED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE GENERATOR HAD FAILED IN FLIGHT AND PORTION OF THE COMMUTATOR AND BRUSHES HAD COME APART.
THERE IS CORROSION DAMAGE TO THE CABIN FLOOR PANEL EDGING
CHAFING DAMAGE WAS DISCOVERED ON THE LH LATERAL BULKHEAD (X FRAME) (PN: 350A21-1051) ON THE INBOARD FACE. THE CHAFE DAMAGE IS OUTLINED BELOW AND SHOW IN IN FIGURE 1. THE DAMAGE IS LOCATED ON THE INTERIOR (INBOARD) SIDE OF THE X FRAME. L/H AFT LOWER LEG STA 3640, BL 400L AND WL 2010 .25â X .30â X .015â DEEP
DURING FINAL APPROACH, HAD A BURNING ODOR COME THROUGH AC VENTS. SHUT OFF AC COMPRESSOR, AND ODOR CLEARED. THE CONDENSER FAN WAS CAUSING THE ODOR. THE FAN WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED.
