ENGINES HIGH POWER RAN IN REFERENCE WITH BOEING AMM ENGINES. BOTH PACK SYSTEM CHECKED IN REFERENCE WITH BOEING AMM21-51-00. ALL FOUR EMPLOYEES WALK THROUGH THE AIRCRAFT,
FLAPS WOULDNT EXTEND BEYOND 5 DEGREES ON APPROACH. GO AROUND W/C HECKLIST FLAPS NORMAL IDICATORS EXTENDED ON BOTH OUTBOARD TRANSMISSIONS. FLUID NOT SERVICED ON ANY OF THE TRANSMISSIONS A/C MOVED OFF GATE. TRANSMISDIONS 1 AND 8. CYCLED FLAPS TO FULL 40. NO DEFECTS OR DAMAGE FOUND. PERFORMED BITES IN FESU. TRAILING EDGE GROUND TEST 27-51 TASK 818 TEST PASSED. ASYMMETRY TEST 27-51 TASK 819 PASSED. WHEN CHECKING FLAP TRANSMISSION TORQUE IDICATION FOR TASK 27-51 TASK 849 FOUND PERFORMED TROUBLESHOOT IAW FIM 27-51 TASK 849 STEP D RESETED #1 GOOD AT THIS TIME A/C OK TO CONTINUE. AND #8 TRAILING EDGE FLAPS TRANSMISSION TORQUE TRIP INDICATOR. SERVICED #1 AND #8 TRAILING EDGE FLAP TRANSMISSION IAW AMM 12-22-51. EXTEND AND RETRACT FLAPS IAW AMM 27-51-00 OPS CHECKED.

WIRING CHECKS COMPLIED WITH WITH NO FAULTS INDICATED AND FSEU REPLACED PRECAUTIONARY. UNLOCKING LOGPAGE ACCOMPLISHED FIM 27-88 TASK 819. ASYMMETRY TEST ALSO PASSED. THEY PUT FLAPS ALL THE WAY UP AT PER FLIGHT CREW AUTOPILOT NOT ENGAGED FOUND DFCS FAULT ON LAST FLIGHT LEG. "22-11822" SAME FAULT ON PSEU BITE SHOWED NO FAULTS AS WELL BOTH SMYD 1 AND 2 SHOWED "FMC DATA INVALID" FAULTS MX MSG 0 AND FMC WAS STILL INDICATING "CLIMB" PHASE WITH MAX SPEED BOTH CH A AND B. REF FIM 22-11 TASK 811 PERFORMED DFCS CURRENT 27-31026 AND 27-32026. SMYD FLAP POSITION DISCRETES SHOWED ALLOWED 250KNOTS. THEY DESCENDED BACK TO 10K FT AND CYCLED FLAPS FAULTS AND TEST PASSED, PERFORMED ADIRS BITE TEST AND NO FAULTS CORRECT WITH FLAP POSITION TO SEVERAL POSITIONS 1-5AND BACK TO 0 AND NO CHANGE. THEY DID AND ENG 1 AND 2 EEC BITE AND NO FAULTS, DEU 1 AND 2 BITE AND REPLACED FMC# 1 PER AMM 34-61-02 . PERFORMED SOFTWARE CROSSLOAD AND VERIFIED SOFTWARE AS CORRECT PER LRU SOFTWARE NON 787 CONFIGURATION PAGES. FMC #1 BITE PASSED. SMOKE OR FUMES IN CABIN SOURCE UNKNOWN RIGHT AFTER T/O UNTIL 20000 FEET IN CLIMB NON-ELECTRICAL SMELL OF OIL OR EXHAUST COMPLETE VISUAL INSPECTION OF BOTH ENGINES INLET AND EXHAUSTS. NOTE ANY FOREIGN MATTER AND IF FOUND TAKE PICTURES. PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE FAN BLADES OF ENGINE 1 WHICH HAD A FAN LUBE 12/31/2020 IN EWR, REF LP 5670091. IF ANY RESIDUAL FAN LUBE IS FOUND, TAKE PICTURES AND FORWARD TO ESCPP. 847-7008324 OPT 4. VISUALLY INSPECTED INLETS AND EXHAUSTS OF NR 1 AND NR 2 ENGINES AND FOUND NR 1 ENGINE TO HAVE RESIDUAL FAN LUBE ON 1ST STAGE FAN BLADES. RAN ENGINES AND APU ISOLATED EACH AS A SOURCE OF AIR WITH PACKS RUNNING AND PERFORMED PACK BURNOUT, PER MM21-00-01. HAD NO SMELL IN CABIN OR COCKPIT. SUSPECT RESIDUAL LUBE ON NR 1 ENGINE AS CAUSE FOR ODOR.
