HIGH SPEED REJECTED TAKE OFF IN APF, LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL AS AIRCRAFT ACCELERATED TO V1 DUE TO A DRAGGING LEFT MAIN MOUNT. DRAG DUE TO EITHER A HUB/BEARING FAILURE OR BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE ALLOWING LEFT BRAKE TO STICK. THE BRAKE WAS REMOVED AND FOUND TO BE DRAGGING WITH NO PRESSURE. R&R OF THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY RESOLVED THE ISSUE.
ON DEPARTURE AND INITIAL CLIMB OUT CREW NOTICED SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT AND INCREASING IN VOLUME AND SMELL. CREW CONFIRMED WITH EACH OTHER THERE WAS SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT AND SMELLED ELECTRICAL IN ORIGIN. CREW SHUT DOWN THE APU AND IT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY STOPPED PRODUCING THE SMOKE. UPON RETURN TO THE AIRPORT, MAINTENANCE WAS CALLED TO TROUBLESHOOT THE ISSUE. THEY PERFORMED VISUAL INSPECTIONS OF THE #1 AND #2 ENGINES, APU AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. ENGINE AND APU RUNS WERE ACCOMPLISHED WITH NO DEFECTS FOUND. AFTER THE WORK WAS SIGNED OFF, A CHECK FLIGHT WAS PERFORMED WITH MAINTENANCE ONBOARD AND NO ISSUES WERE NOTED.
AIR DUCT OVERHEAT ANNUNCIATOR LIGHT CLIMBING THROUGH 1500 FT WITH SMOKE IN CABIN. TURNED OFF BLEED AIR SMOKE WENT AWAY.
FOUND LT ELEVATOR TORQUE TUBE CORRODED. REMOVED AND REPLACED LT ELEVATOR TORQUE TUBE IAW SRM 51-40-03.
FOUND RT ELEVATOR TORQUE TUBE CORRODED. REMOVED AND REPLACED RT ELEVATOR TORQUE TUBE IAW SRM 51-40-03.
SMOKE FILLED COCKPIT/CABIN ON CLIMB OUT. EMERGENCY DECLARED. AFTER APU SHUTDOWN SMOKE CLEARED. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO KPBI.
